Astronomers have captured the light of a spatial web connecting galaxies
Such images reveal valuable information about how galaxies form and evolve, and help track the location of elusive dark matter, which makes up about 80% of the mass of the Universe.
In 2014, astronomers captured the first image of the cosmic web based on the radiation from a quasar, an object billions of times more massive than our Sun and considered one of the brightest objects in the Universe. In 2019, another study used data from young, forming stars to provide a proxy for the cosmic web. Now, astronomers have directly captured its light at a distance of 10 to 12 billion light years away.
According to cosmological models, more than 60% of the hydrogen created after the Big Bang approximately 13.8 billion years ago collapsed and formed spatial structures, which in turn collapsed and formed the cosmic web of filaments that we see today – threads of cosmic matter consisting from dust and gas. These filaments connect galaxies and enable their growth and star formation. Although this is just speculation, previous research has also suggested that galaxies form where these filaments intersect.
To take the latest image of intersecting filaments, the team used data from the telescope. Keck, installed at the observatory on the Mauna Kea volcano in Hawaii. The device is configured to detect radiation from hydrogen, which is the main component of the cosmic web. The resulting 2D images were then combined into a 3D map based on the detected radiation emanating from the cosmic web.
To notice these faint emissions, the team first had to deal with the problem of light pollution. The dim light of the cosmic web can easily be confused with the light of the Hawaiian sky, atmospheric aurora, and even the light of our Milky Way.
So the team decided to take photographs of two different parts of the sky at different distances. The scientists then took the background light from one image and subtracted it from the other, and vice versa. As a result, only the web’s filament network remained, as simulations predicted in 2019.
Images like those produced in the new study can help scientists better understand how galaxies form and evolve over eons.

Toyota Land Cruiser 70 Series presented in Modelista version

The classic 70 Series Toyota Land Cruiser has returned to Japan after a 9-year hiatus, and Toyota’s in-house tuning shop, Modelista, has offered a selection of optional accessories for personalization.
Modelista offers exterior modifications to the Land Cruiser 70 Series using components from Japanese tuning house Jaos, known for its SUV expertise. Chevrolet Suburban 2025 and Tahoe 2025 presented

Chevrolet has unveiled the 2025 Chevrolet Suburban and 2025 Tahoe. The most obvious changes are visible at the front, where a Silverado EV-style fascia has been added. The larger daytime running lights are housed in gloss black housings. Standard on all models is a high-gloss black grille, and some trims have unique textures up front—like the Z71’s black mesh and High Country Galvano chrome trim.
The sporty RST and the flagship High Country now offer massive 24-inch wheels as an option. Overall, the new Tahoe and Suburban look the same as before. But there are more changes inside. Every trim comes standard with a new 17.7-inch touchscreen and 11.0-inch digital instrument cluster. A redesigned instrument panel improves visibility. The gear selector (previously a set of buttons on the center console) is again located on the steering column. The console has also been slightly redesigned, and a power armrest with hidden storage underneath returns to the range as a gimmicky option.
Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto remain, and the electronics package also includes some new features. Towing is reportedly made easier with a new app that takes into account the length and width of the trailer to estimate the path when turning and driving forward, monitoring the health of your trailer’s tires, and a boat launching guide that provides step-by-step instructions. The cloud-connected camera system provides owners with a live video feed via a smartphone app.
The 2025 Suburban and Tahoe come standard with automatic emergency braking, lane-centering technology, blind-spot monitoring, front and side pedestrian detection and adaptive cruise control. Additionally, the advanced Super Cruise driver assistance package will be available on LT, RST, Premier and High Country trims – previously only offered on the latter two trims.
A sophisticated rear-seat monitoring system sensitive enough to detect heartbeat and breathing patterns is standard. There is also an internal chamber.
Chevrolet’s proven 3.0-liter Duramax turbodiesel will now be offered in Z71 trim in 2025, with the automaker saying many of its customers wanted the efficiency and smoothness of the inline-six engine, as well as the capabilities of the off-road package. What’s more, the Suburban and Tahoe now get a high-performance diesel version that produces 305 hp. The 5.3-liter and 6.2-liter V8 petrol engines remain unchanged.
Chevy says the 2025 Tahoe and Suburban will have more responsive handling thanks to a retuned steering system and an updated multi-link rear suspension.
Prices for the 2025 Suburban and 2025 Tahoe have not been disclosed.
