ASRock Introduces Thunderbolt 4 Dual Port Expansion Card
ASRock has unveiled an expansion card shown in the illustrations, which allows you to add two 40Gbps Thunderbolt 4 ports to your system configuration. In addition to the corresponding USB-C connectors, the mounting plate has two connectors for DisplayPort 1.4 pass-through, and a pair of cables are included for connecting video outputs to them. Supports video pass-through up to 5K resolution at frame rates up to 60 Hz.
The card is based on the Intel JHL8540 Maple Ridge controller and is equipped with a PCIe 3.0 x4 interface. The controller supports daisy-chaining of up to five compatible devices.
The source clarifies that the card works exclusively with ASRock motherboards based on Intel 500 series chipsets, which have a dedicated TBT_Header pin header. In addition, the card requires a 9-pin USB 2.0 connector.
The card is 8.4 cm long and 10.41 cm high and occupies one slot. The manufacturer does not name its price.

But Intel only managed to release competitors for the Threadripper 5000. Asus confirms that the Ryzen Threadripper 7000 will be released in the second half of the year

AMD is indeed going to launch Ryzen Threadripper 7000 processors in the second half of this year. Previously, these were just rumors and leaks, and now this was announced by an Asus representative.
Interestingly, he mentioned this in a video demonstrating the work of the Intel Sapphire Rapids WS platform, the processors of which are currently competing with the Threadripper 5000, but soon they will have to compete with the Threadripper 7000.
Threadripper 7000 will switch to a new socket and a new Zen 4 architecture. This will bring them support for DDR5 memory, probably PCIe 5.0 interface. In addition, the top-end Threadripper 7000s are expected to be 96-core, just like their sister Epyc Genoa.

JetStream are back. Palit GeForce RTX 4080 and 4070 Ti JetStream graphics cards unveiled – and they have one notable difference from the competition

Palit returns to the production of JetStream video cards. More than two years after the release of the GeForce RTX 3070 JetStream, the company introduced the GeForce RTX 4080 and 4070 Ti JetStream. These models differ from analogues in the absence of RGB backlighting.
At one time, manufacturers of various hardware were so carried away by the introduction of backlighting into everything that is possible that now its absence is already perceived as a “trick”. On the other hand, the frequencies here are completely standard, and from this point of view, the lack of backlight is more of a savings factor.
Video cards look almost the same – and rather modestly. However, they are long – 329 mm (after all, there are three fans) and rather thick (they take up 3.1 slots). It is possible that dual-fan models will also appear in the JetStream series, but already based on the GeForce RTX 4070 or GeForce RTX 4060. The cost of new products has not yet been announced.
