Arm v9 architecture introduced

Arm has unveiled the Arm v9 architecture, which, according to the developer, is “a response to the global demand for ubiquitous, dedicated processing with enhanced security and artificial intelligence.”

“As we look to the future that will shape AI, we must lay the foundation for advanced computing that is ready to tackle the unique challenges ahead,” said Simon Segars, CEO, Arm. – Armv9 is the answer. It will be at the forefront of the next 300 billion Arm-based chips driven by the demand for ubiquitous dedicated, secure and powerful processing based on economics, design freedom, and the availability of universal computing. ”

According to the company, the number of Arm-based chips in the world continues to grow, with more than 100 billion units shipped over the past five years. At the current rate, 100% of the world’s shared data will soon be processed on Arm, either at the endpoint, data networks, or in the cloud. Armv9’s new capabilities are said to accelerate the transition from universal computing to more specialized computing across all applications as AI, Internet of Things (IoT) and 5G gain traction globally.

The Arm Confidential Computing Architecture (CCA) is designed to keep data secure. Confidential Computing protects portions of code and data from being accessed or modified during use, even from privileged software, by performing computations in a secure hardware environment. At the heart of the Arm CCA concept are dynamically created Realms used by all applications in a region that is separate from both safe and insecure worlds.

The acceleration of AI algorithms is based on the Scalable Vector Extension (SVE) technology co-developed with Fujitsu, which is at the heart of Fugaku, the world’s fastest supercomputer. Armv9 includes the second generation of this technology, SVE2, which should provide advanced machine learning and digital signal processing capabilities for a wide range of applications.

In terms of performance, Armv9 is expected to increase performance by over 30% in the next two generations of mobile and infrastructure processors.

Moreover, the additional gain should be provided by the Arm Total Compute design methodology, based on “targeted optimization of hardware and software at the system level.” By applying Total Compute design principles, Arm expects to improve the performance of IP cores for automotive, consumer electronics, infrastructure and IoT solutions. In addition, Arm is developing several technologies to increase the frequency, bandwidth, and cache size, as well as reduce memory latency, to further improve the performance of Armv9-based processors.

The performance is 41 MH / s with a consumption of only 66 watts. Nvidia RTX A2000 GPU Shows Mining Efficiency Wonders

Judging by new details that have appeared on the Web, the most affordable Nvidia Ampere graphics card for workstations, the RTX A2000, is perhaps the most efficient 3D accelerator for mining cryptocurrencies, in particular Ethereum.

The Nvidia RTX A2000 is built on a GA106 GPU with 3328 CUDA cores and has 6GB of GDDR6 memory connected to the GPU using a 192-bit bus. Since the TDP is only 70W, the device does not require additional power. It also takes up little space inside the case (or a conventional rig), and only one centrifugal fan is used for cooling.

The performance is 41 MH / s with a consumption of only 66 watts. Nvidia RTX A2000 GPU Shows Mining Efficiency Wonders

In general, in terms of design and appearance, you cannot say that the RTX A2000 is great for mining, and yet three such video cards can replace one GeForce RTX 3090, while they will consume less. Optimized for mining RTX A2000 (core frequency raised by 100 MHz, memory – by 1500 MHz) produces 41 MH / s with a consumption of only 66 watts. With a Power Limit of 95% and a fan running at 100%, heating is only 51 ° C.

Nvidia RTX A2000 should go on sale in December, but after such a positive test in mining it will be difficult to buy it – the video card will clearly interest many cryptocurrency miners.

The top discrete Intel Arc graphics card will cost about $ 800, the cost of the model is simpler – about $ 650

The premiere of discrete Intel Arc graphics cards based on the Xe-HPG architecture is expected in the first quarter of next year. There are no comprehensive official details yet, but the company has already given a good price guideline by publishing the conditions of a certain competition, in which two models of Intel Arc 3D cards – Premium and Performance – are the prizes.

A total of 100 prizes will be awarded with Premium graphics cards equivalent to $ 900 each and 200 prizes with Performance graphics cards worth $ 700 each. The price is for a set, which, in addition to the video card itself, includes a subscription to the Xbox Game Pass service for three or six months, as well as branded merchandise.

The top discrete Intel Arc graphics card will cost about $ 800, the cost of the model is simpler - about $ 650

Subtracting the subscription and merchandise costs from the prize, the Arc Premium 3D card will cost around $ 825 and the Performance 3D card around $ 650. A lot, considering that we are talking, in fact, about the cost price. Given the current deficit, the price can be safely multiplied by one and a half, if we talk about retail. And it turns out that on the store shelf there will not be much difference in price between the same Arc Premium, GeForce RTX 3070 (Ti) and Radeon RX 6700 XT – it is with these models from Nvidia and AMD that the novelty will compete. So what will make users buy an Intel device instead of Nvidia or AMD at roughly the same cost and performance? While this is a big question.

Hacker published information about betting on Dota 2 games

According to the information released, PSG.LGD Dota 2 coach Zhang xiao8 Nina made over two thousand bets on PSG.LGD matches.

The hacker hacked into the account on the website of the Chinese bookmaker, which, presumably, belongs to the trainer of the PSG.LGD Dota 2 roster Zhang Xiao8 Ning. An anonymous post with screenshots appeared on the Zhihu portal.

The screenshots posted by the hacker prove that xiao8 was betting on PSG.LGD. In the screenshots, you can see the same username as in the screenshots previously posted by ex-wife Nina.

The hacker said that between May 2019 and December 2020, the mentor of the Chinese team made 2,444 bets for a total amount exceeding one million dollars. Note that neither PSG.LGD nor xiao8 commented on the situation in any way.

On October 18, ex-wife Nina stated that he has repeatedly made bets on Dota 2 matches, including those of his own team. To confirm her words, she published screenshots of the Xiao8 account from the bookmaker’s website, as well as fragments of correspondence.

However, at the moment, many experts believe that the girl deliberately set up her ex-spouse and, for this, fabricated the necessary evidence against the cybersportsman.
