According to renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, next year Apple plans to release its second-generation AirPods Pro with “innovative” features including health tracking.
According to MacRumors, citing Ming-Chi Kuo, demand for AirPods will be “below expectations” for the rest of this year. Therefore, the supply forecast was lowered to 70-75 million from 75-85 million expected at the beginning of the year.
Ming-Chi Kuo added that next year’s launch of the second-generation “AirPods Pro” with innovative features will boost shipments of all AirPods to over 100 million units in a year.
Bloomberg reported last month that the second generation of Apple’s AirPods Pro will include “updated motion sensors with a focus on fitness tracking.” Apple is reportedly looking into using a design similar to the recently released Beats Studio Buds for the new AirPods Pro.
Ming-Chi Kuo also revealed that the Beats Studio Buds are based on MediaTek’s 22nm single-chip system, rather than Apple’s 16nm H1 platform.
