Apple won’t let you just order the Vision Pro headset online. You will have to go to the store and personally confirm the intention to buy the device

As you know, the Apple Vision Pro headset will go on sale early next year and will only be available in the US for the first time. New data suggests that these will not be all restrictions. Just like that, it will be impossible to buy Vision Pro by ordering it in an online store.

Apple won't let you just order the Vision Pro headset online. You will have to go to the store and personally confirm the intention to buy the device

Bloomberg journalist and insider Mark Gurman says that Apple will again resort to the method when a potential buyer will have to go to a physical Apple Store and personally confirm their purchase there. The company practiced this approach at the initial stage of Apple Watch sales, highlighting separate zones for getting to know the device. The same zones will be for Vision Pro.

In order to sell the device, Apple plans to create new display areas in its retail stores. The spaces will also allow buyers to choose the right size straps and a light seal that prevents outside light from entering the headset. The company is considering making initial shopping appointments, as it did with the original Apple Watch in 2015.

This approach in the case of Vision Pro can have several goals at once. First, in the store, trained salespeople will be able to visually demonstrate to a potential buyer all the benefits of a completely new product for Apple. This will eliminate cases when a person orders a headset online without understanding why it is needed, and eventually becomes disappointed. Secondly, in the store, customers can create a sense of exclusivity, which will be useful, given the price of the device at $ 3,500.

Recall that the original Apple Watch started very well, but just a few weeks later, their sales fell significantly. Whether it will be the same with Vision Pro, time will tell.
