Apple will raise prices for new iPad Pro by 60-80% compared to current models? New OLED panels are too expensive
The new generation of Apple iPad Pro tablets can rise in price significantly. According to industry sources cited by The Elec, the Cupertino giant is now considering new pricing for future tablets.
If the iPad Pro now starts at $800 and $1,100 for the 11-inch and 13-inch models, respectively, the new tablets could allegedly cost between $1,500 and $1,800 respectively! That is, the growth will be 80% in the case of a smaller model and 60% for an older one.
This incredible rise in price is supposedly at least partly due to the transition to OLED screens. And it’s not that the OLED panels themselves are more expensive than what Apple uses now. The source says that the product Apple wants requires partners (Samsung and LG) to use manufacturing processes that have not previously been combined to produce OLED panels of the required size.
For comparison, a 10-inch panel costs $100-150, and a 13-inch panel with the same parameters will cost about $350.
True, the incredible increase in panel prices in itself does not matter to users, and Apple will have to somehow justify the monstrously increased prices. However, so far these are just leaks, and a lot can change by the launch of the new iPads.
The new flagship tablet Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 will receive an even more capacious battery than its predecessor
Samsung will endow its flagship tablet Galaxy Tab S9 with an even larger battery than the S8 currently has.
The novelty will receive an element with a capacity of 8400-8500 mAh against 8000 mAh for the current model. To be more precise, the nominal capacity is known to be 8160 mAh, but the typical one will be, as usual, higher.
Samsung is also preparing the S9 Plus and S9 Ultra models, but there is no data on their batteries yet. It is quite possible that there will also be strengthening waiting for us there. The new tablets are expected to be introduced in the summer along with the new foldable Galaxy Z.
