Apple will not allow masked face unlocking on iPhone. It’s official

The latest versions of iOS and iPadOS have the ability to accelerate device unlocking. If you are wearing a mask, the password entry form appears immediately.

It seems that Apple is not going to further refine the system so that you can unlock the gadget with a mask.

Tom Millett, vice president of platform architecture for the company, said that the Cupertinians considered a similar feature, but concluded that it would only reduce the security of the operating system. Therefore, you shouldn’t expect it in future updates.

Alas, to use an iPhone in a mask, you still have to enter a password. Or use crutches to get around the restriction.
