Apple will know when you miss a workout. The company’s patent describes motion-tracking technology for AirPods
Headphones could become the next type of wearable electronics that will take an active part in tracking the physical activity of users. For example, Apple is currently working on technology that could allow its AirPods to determine the position of the body in space, as well as track movements. Including during workouts as part of the Apple Fitness + service.
The Apple Fitness+ home workout service can be as good as you want, but the bottom line is that it does nothing to determine whether a user has actually exercised. More precisely, there is a binding of the service to the Apple Watch, but only the heart rate indicator is involved there. But AirPods with new technology will be able to track movements. Moreover, judging by the wording in Apple’s patent application, where the technology is described, the headphones will even be able to track some of the user’s movements as part of training.
Headphones may have sensors to collect orientation information, such as accelerometer measurements during user movements. The host electronic device may communicate wirelessly with the headphones and may be part of a headphone system that provides instruction and feedback to the user in assessing the user’s performance in a head movement procedure or other exercise program.
As a result, with this technology, skipping a workout, only pretending to have completed it for show in the statistics and a beautiful picture on social networks, will no longer work.

Exynos platforms will appear in a new type of device. Samsung to create SoC for mixed reality headsets

Samsung is going after Apple to release its mixed reality headset. The device will be released either at the end of this year or early next. There are no details about it yet, but it is reported that Samsung is also going to release its own Exynos single-chip systems for headsets.
Considering that these are only plans for now, the upcoming Samsung headset will apparently either rely on some foreign platforms or on existing Exynos SoCs.
However, new platforms for mixed reality headsets may not be entirely new. It is reported that Samsung has not yet decided whether it will develop these SoCs from scratch or simply adapt existing solutions.

Sony’s first TWS headphones specifically for PlayStation. The company showed a yet unnamed novelty

The other day, Sony not only introduced the Project Q portable console, but also showed the first fully wireless headphones (True Wireless Stereo; TWS) created specifically for the PlayStation.
There are already high-quality images of this product on the Web, while the company did not give a date for their launch on sale, or even a name. However, you can recall that earlier on the Web there were rumors about Project Nomad headphones created just for the PlayStation, so this is probably them.
Then it was reported that Project Nomad will receive some kind of innovative technology for wireless data transmission without loss and low latency. At the same time, headphones can also be connected to a smartphone or PC via Bluetooth.
There are no other technical details yet.
