Apple unveils new iPad Pro tablets that are even more powerful with SoC M2 and Wi-Fi 6E
Apple quietly introduced the new iPad tablets. Including new iPad Pro with SoC M2.
What this platform is capable of in general, we already know thanks to Apple laptops, but in this case, the company is talking about a performance increase over past iPad Pro by 15% for the CPU and 35% for the GPU. In any case, these are very powerful tablets that outperform many laptops in terms of performance.
The new iPad Pro also offers what Apple says is a new level of Apple Pencil hover and ultra-fast wireless connectivity, as well as the world’s most advanced mobile display, professional cameras, Face ID, Thunderbolt and a four-speaker audio system.
In the new tablet, the stylus is recognized up to 12mm from the screen, allowing users to preview their mark before it is taken. It also allows users to sketch and illustrate with even greater precision and make everything users do with the Apple Pencil even easier. For example, in Scribble, text boxes expand automatically when the pencil approaches the screen, and handwriting is converted to text even faster. Third party apps can also take advantage of this new feature to provide a whole new marking and drawing experience.
More new items received a Wi-Fi 6E adapter.
Otherwise, these are exactly the same iPad Pro as they were in the previous generation. That is, we are talking about two versions with screens with a diagonal of 11 and 12.9 inches, flash memory from 128 GB to 2 TB, 20-watt charging via USB-C and a main 12-megapixel camera.
Pre-orders start today, and sales will begin on October 26. The minimum price of the younger model is $800, while the older one starts at $1,100.

The CIA is concerned about China’s ability to gain access to the most powerful supercomputer for AI training, based on chips the size of an iPad.

Due to more and more US sanctions, China cannot receive the latest AI accelerators and much more, which is also related to artificial intelligence. However, now the US government has concerns that China will still gain access to such technologies, and not just like that, right away to the most productive supercomputer for AI training.
We are talking about the Condor Galaxy system, which in itself is unique and extremely unusual, but we have already written about this. This system is being built by G42 from the UAE. The company is reportedly controlled by Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed and has ties to Chinese firms that the US considers a security threat. Including with Huawei. According to the New York Times, the CIA fears that G42’s cooperation with Chinese companies could lead to G42 becoming a conduit for the transfer of classified American technology and genetic data. In addition, China will have access to an incredibly powerful supercomputer.
The bottom line is that Condor Galaxy will consist of several identical installations (CG1, CG-2, and so on), located in different countries. There will be nine of them in total, and only a few will be located in the United States. The CIA expresses concern about four, but does not specify where the four systems will be located.
Let us remind you that Condor Galaxy is a unique solution. Each of the CG clusters consists of 64 modules, with each module actually containing only one chip. We are talking about the Cerebras Wafer Scale Engine 2 (WSE-2) chip, which is the size of an iPad and contains 850,000 cores. As a result, only one CG system has a performance of 4 ExaFLOPS (FP16), and the total performance of the entire supercomputer will be an incredible 36 ExaFLOPS. This is very, very much, however, just today Nvidia and Amazon announced the construction of a Ceiba supercomputer with a performance of 65 ExaFLOPS in the same mode.

The world’s first tablet with support for two-way satellite communication: Huawei MatePad Pro 11 2024 presented

Today, Huawei officially unveiled the MatePad Pro 11 2024 tablet computer, and it turned out to be the first device in its category to support two-way satellite communication – it is implemented only in China through the national Beidou orbital constellation.
But that’s not all the features: Huawei calls the MatePad Pro 11 2024 “the thinnest 11-inch tablet” – the device is only 5.9 mm thick (and weighs 449 grams).
The MatePad Pro 11 2024 hardware platform is based on the Kirin 9000S SoC with a slightly reduced frequency: the device scores 1244 points in the single-threaded Geekbench test and 3793 points in the multi-threaded test. The device received an OLED screen, occupying 92% of the front panel area, and support for 66 W charging.
Huawei MatePad Pro 11 2024 is offered in two configurations: 12/256 GB for $600 and 12/512 GB for $670.
