Artificial intelligence will create new business opportunities and lead to economic growth that will create new jobs, according to IBM chief executive Arvind Krishna.

Krishna said he believes the net effect of AI on employment will be “job creation” rather than job destruction, although it will replace humans in certain jobs.

On Sunday, IBM announced plans to invest $100 million in a joint research project with the University of Tokyo and the University of Chicago in an attempt to build a 100,000-qubit quantum supercomputer in 10 years.

AI will lead to job creation, and commercial applications of quantum computers will begin soon, according to the head of IBM

“Japan has accumulated a lot of experience in the field of quantum computing, accumulated over decades,” said Krishna. — Physicists, engineers and materials scientists are working on different aspects. Many people may not realize how deep Japan is in these areas.”

He predicted that quantum computing technology would advance step by step as part of a collaborative project in the next decade, with commercial applications starting in three to five years: “This is the time when people will be solving some problems that are probably too expensive or impossible for conventional computers. To do this, we need between 4,000 and 10,000 qubits.”

In quantum computing, a qubit, or quantum bit, is the basic unit of information, just like a binary bit is in conventional computers.

As you can see, the PC case looks like a sneaker. In fact, the company showed the device back at CES 2022, that is, more than a year ago, but only now the PC is entering the market. To be more precise, sales will start in early July at a price of $6,000.

Unfortunately, there are no specs yet, but at this price, this should be a flagship PC. By the way, according to the images, it may be difficult to estimate the dimensions of the case, but the novelty is definitely not a small one: 650 x 306 x 651 mm.

Icy Dock has presented an extremely unusual product, which, perhaps, has no analogues. This is a ToughArmor MB842MP-B expansion board that allows you to connect an M.2 SSD to a PCIe slot on your motherboard.

There are many such solutions on the market, but the uniqueness of this product is that the SSD in it can be replaced from the outside, without having to open the PC case, pull out the board, and so on.

As you can see, this is implemented quite simply: the drives are installed in special slots that move along the guides inside the board. There is support for M.2 2230, 2242, 2260, 2280 and 22110 SSD formats, and the maximum thickness can be 3.8mm. Hot swapping is not supported in most cases, but it depends on the motherboard.

The negotiated board costs $250 and allows you to install two SSDs. There’s also a single-drive model, the MB840M2P-B, which costs just $105.
