Apple orders 2.5 million laptops based on new processors

Apple plans to host a new event next week. Analysts expect the company to announce a new series of laptops. Many will agree that users are placing too much expectation on the device, but Apple seems to be taking it just as seriously.

According to a new report from NIkkei, Apple has already ordered a huge batch of new laptops, which means that the Cupertino tech giant is making high forecasts for new device demand.

According to Nikkei Asia, Apple has asked suppliers to produce 2.5 million MacBooks by early 2021 with new in-house processors. This is due to the fact that Apple intends to quickly reduce its dependence on Intel chips.

Interestingly, orders for the first MacBooks with an Apple Silicon processor are equivalent to nearly 20% of total MacBook orders in 2019.
