Apple Maps now show speed cameras

Published

on

Dutch blog iCulture reported yesterday that the Apple Maps app is now showing information about speed cameras in the Netherlands, adding that Apple will soon be rolling out the feature in other countries around the world.

Users from other countries, including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Sweden and New Zealand, have confirmed to say they are also a new feature in Apple Maps. When you navigate in your car using Apple Maps via CarPlay or your iPhone in an area where the speed camera function is available, the camera’s roadside warnings appear with a yellow icon. Maps show the location of fixed cameras that monitor speed and red light traffic.

Previously, this feature was introduced in Canada, Ireland, the United Kingdom and the United States. iCulture notes that Apple Maps still doesn’t show top speeds on Dutch roads.

Apple is working on a new Apple Maps feature for iOS 14.5 that will allow users to self-report speed checks on the roads.
