Yesterday we already had the opportunity to verify that the new Apple M3 SoC is much faster than the M2 and even approaches the M2 Pro in terms of processor performance. It turned out that the M3 Max is even more impressive compared to the previous generation.

Apple is developing in huge leaps. SoC M3 Max in MacBook Pro with 16 CPU cores manages to compete with 24-core SoC M2 Ultra

In Geekbench 6, the platform scores about 21,000 points in multi-threaded mode! For comparison, the M2 Ultra scores about the same in the Mac Pro. At the same time, the M2 Ultra has a 24-core processor, while the M3 Max offers only a 16-core processor. Also for comparison, you can give the example of M2 Max, which scores about 14,500 points.

Yes, the M2 Ultra has many more GPU cores, so the graphics performance of the new platforms will need to be discussed separately when the corresponding tests appear. But the results from the processor part are very impressive.

The authors of the source test not only smartphones, but also laptops, although much less frequently. In this case, the latest version of the 14-inch MacBook Pro, equipped with the M3 Pro SoC, turns out to have better speakers and at the same time a better screen. In total, for these indicators (the source calls it Music & Video), the laptop received 154 points, while the same MacBook on the M2 Pro at one time earned 149 points.

At the same time, interestingly, the quality of video calls in the old model is slightly better: 144 points versus 142. But the final result of 148 points still puts the new product in the lead, although the difference with the previous version is only 1 point.

If you look at the entire rating, the first few places are occupied exclusively by Apple laptops.

Users are unhappy Evernote is testing a limit of 50

The team of the popular service for creating and storing notes Evernote began testing an innovation that its users did not like much. Complaints about Evernote have appeared online – users are offered the choice of either paying for a paid subscription or facing a limit of 1 notebook and 50 notes.

This change severely limits the options for longtime Evernote users who have accumulated hundreds or thousands of notes over the years.

Despite the message in the app, Evernote’s website pricing page does not yet indicate that there is such a limit for free use. Thematic resource TechCrunch was able to obtain comment on the situation from company representatives. Evernote said that the change is not yet final, so the information on the site has not been updated. The service team tested with less than 1% of its users with a free subscription. If they decide to adopt the innovation, the company will explicitly communicate the changes at “relevant customer touchpoints.”

Evernote also emphasized that the new limit will not prevent users from managing, editing, viewing, exporting or deleting existing notes, but will only limit the ability to create new notes.
