At the moment, the Taiwanese supplier Epistar is the main supplier of Mini LED chips for the iPhone manufacturer. However, as Apple increases the number of devices using this display technology, it has been looking to bring in additional vendors. DigiTimes, citing industry informants, says the new suppliers include Chinese company Sanan Optoelectronics, which is offering significantly lower prices than current ones.

It is also expected that Apple’s demand for Mini LED displays will continue to increase in the near future. Epistar is expanding its China manufacturing facility to ramp up production starting in the second quarter of 2022. In addition, Sanan Optoelectronics is expected to start shipping around the same time.
