Apple has failed to prevent Huawei from registering a new trademark. Cuperinians didn’t like the name MatePod

Huawei has defended the MatePod brand against Apple.

Earlier, the Chinese giant filed for registration of the MatePod trademark, which refers to headphones. However, Apple tried to challenge the registration process, saying that the name of the MatePod is too similar to AirPods and EarPods, and that users may get confused about the names, that is, buy one instead of the other.

However, the China State Intellectual Property Office ruled in Huawei’s favor, allowing the company to register a negotiated trademark.
