Apple has declared war on developers of state-sponsored spyware Pegasus, which is used to jailbreak iPhones

Published

Apple has filed a lawsuit against the Israeli NSO Group and its parent company to prosecute them for spying on and harassing Apple users. The lawsuit contains new information about how the NSO Group infected the victims’ devices with its Pegasus spyware. To prevent further abuse and harm to its users, Apple is also seeking to permanently ban the NSO Group from using any Apple software, service or device.

The NSO Group has created government-sponsored surveillance technology that allows targeted spyware software to spy on its victims. These attacks target a small number of users and affect people across multiple platforms, including iOS and Android. Researchers and journalists have publicly documented the history of the use of this spyware to target journalists, activists, dissidents, academics and government officials.

Government-sponsored entities like the NSO Group spend millions of dollars on sophisticated surveillance technologies without effective accountability. This needs to be changed. Apple devices are the safest consumer hardware on the market, but private companies that develop government-sponsored spyware have become even more dangerous. While these cybersecurity threats affect only a very small number of our customers, we take any attack against our users very seriously and are constantly working to strengthen the security and privacy protections of iOS to ensure the safety of all our users.

Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior vice president of software development

At the same time, Apple praised the work of Citizen Lab and Amnesty International, which found evidence that Pegasus is being used to hack iPhone users around the world. Apple has donated $ 10 million to support these and other organizations that counter cyber tracking.

Previously, former CIA and NSA special agent Edward Snowden commented on the Pegasus story: “Drop everything and read this.”

Good news for Samsung smartphone lovers. Galaxy S22 will not rise in price in comparison with Galaxy S21

Published

As the thematic resource Sammobile writes with reference to its sources, Galaxy S22, the base model of Samsung’s new flagship line is likely to keep the cost at the level of its predecessor – Galaxy S21. That is, the price will be $ 800 for the base version of the Galaxy S22. Rumors have credited Samsung with wanting to sell 14 million Galaxy S22 smartphones next year, and such a conservative pricing approach will only help achieve that goal.

There is no such data regarding other smartphones of the line. So the Galaxy S22 Plus and Galaxy S22 Ultra may well go up in price. As for the Galaxy S22, Samsung will have to somehow separate it from the Galaxy S21 FE, which will cost only $ 100 less ($ 700). And if earlier, with the same price difference between the Galaxy S20 FE and Galaxy S21, Samsung had no problems, because these smartphones came out with a big time difference, now there will definitely be problems, since the Galaxy S21 FE and Galaxy S22 will go on sale with a difference of about a month.

Galaxy Z Flip 3, despite the far from the lowest price and not yet the most familiar form factor, managed to bypass all competitors, and the diagram shows that it is noticeably bypassed.

The second place went to the Galaxy S21, and the third place was taken by the inexpensive Galaxy A32. In addition, the Fold 3 entered the top ten, and in fourth place, and the tenth place of the very specific Galaxy Quantum 2 with a quantum random number generator seems to be something incredible at all.

For the fourth month in a row, Realme GT Master continues to reign in first place, gaining 537,231 points in November. As noted by AnTuTu, Naoto Fukasawa’s suitcase-style design has made this smartphone very recognizable and one of the hottest on the mobile phone market this year.

The second place is also taken by the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite for the fourth month in a row with 524,464 points. But the Honor 50 burst into third place with 516 915 points, which was not previously represented in the international ranking. It’s funny that a new generation series, Honor 60, has already been presented in China.

Then in the ranking are Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G NE (505 274), Huawei Nova 9 (499 078), Galaxy A52s 5G (498 705), Galaxy M52 5G (490 762), Huawei Nova 7 (457 964), Oppo Reno6 5G (429 879), Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite 5G (388 719).
