Apple allowed to repair the iPhone X if it broke the “bangs”
Apple has expanded its program to allow you to repair your Face ID system without replacing your iPhone with a new one.
The program was launched in February and initially the iPhone X, Apple’s first smartphone with a notch, was excluded from it. At that time, Apple allowed technicians in its stores and authorized service centers to repair Face ID modules in the iPhone XS and newer smartphones. Stores and service centers have begun to provide access to the necessary components for the TrueDepth camera system.
Now the iPhone X has also got into this program. Thus, the program began to cover all Apple smartphones with a “bang”.

Apple took over half of the North American smartphone market, and Google shows growth at times

Canalys analysts report that shipments of smartphones in North America in the first quarter increased by 3.7%, to 39 million units.
The undisputed leader is Apple, which increased sales by 19%, taking 51% of the market with 19.9 million smartphones sold. Samsung increased sales by only 1%, to 10.5 million, taking 27% of the market. Motorola closes the top three with a growth of 56%, a share of 10% and 4 million smartphones sold.
Fourth place goes to TCL, which sells Alcatel-branded smartphones. The company’s sales fell 21% to 1.4 million smartphones. And, apparently, in the near future it will shift to fifth place, as Google is growing at an incredible pace.
The search giant’s smartphone sales are up 380% (or more, but more on that below)! As a result, the company now occupies 3% of the market, having sold 1.2 million smartphones in the quarter. Still, despite a number of data, sales of the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro are clearly very good by the standards of Google itself.
All other brands in North America account for only 15% of the market, and sales of all these companies in total collapsed by 64%, to 2.1 million units.
Separately, it is worth noting that in some points the data in the table looks strange. In particular, Google’s growth from 0.2 million to 1.2 million smartphones is clearly over 380%.

iPhone 13 and 13 Pro Max became the best-selling phones in the world

Analyst Francisco Geronimo of IDC reports that Apple’s iPhone 13 was the world’s best-selling smartphone in the first quarter of this year despite major supply issues.
IDC does not disclose the total number of devices sold, as well as the market share of phones. The company recalls that the iPhone 12 and iPhone 11 were the top-selling phones of 2021 and 2020, respectively, so the iPhone 13 was expected to perform similarly. The iPhone 13 retails for $800 in the US, offering an Apple A15 Bionic SoC, a dual camera setup, a 6.1-inch notched display, and iOS 15.
The 6.7-inch iPhone 13 Pro Max took second place in the first quarter of 2022, indicating that people are more than willing to pay more for a bigger screen, better camera, and longer battery life.
The 6.1-inch iPhone 13 Pro took a respectable fourth place, while the tiny 5.4-inch iPhone 13 mini failed to make the top five. The latter further explains the rumors about Apple’s decision to phase out the iPhone mini. Combined, the iPhone 13 family accounts for 84% of total iPhone revenue in the first three months of 2022. The rest of the revenue comes from the iPhone SE (2022) and older iPhone 12 and iPhone 11 models. Analysts believe that the iPhone 14 could be even more successful.
Two 6.1-inch iPhones from Apple made the top five last quarter. But perhaps more important is the fact that the 6.7-inch Apple Pro model is outselling the 6.1-inch version. So the next generation 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max could be an extremely profitable model for Apple. It will offer everything consumers love about Apple’s regular bestseller, but in a larger form factor that will be much more affordable than the Pro line.
The entry-level Samsung Galaxy A12 ranked third in the first quarter, while the mid-range Galaxy A32 ranked fifth.
