Another Ultra-smartphone, but inexpensive. Nubia Z50 Ultra introduced with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, non-standard main camera and sub-screen front
ZTE has unveiled the Nubia Z50 Ultra flagship phone in China. The device stands out primarily for its flat rectangular screen – there is an OLED panel from BOE. The screen diagonal is 6.8 inches, the resolution is 2480 x 1116 pixels. Maximum frame rate – 120 Hz, peak brightness – 1300 cd / sq.m. The display covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color space.
Two elements are placed under the screen: the first is a seventh-generation ultra-thin fingerprint scanner that supports heart rate detection at the touch of a finger; the second is a fourth-generation front camera with a 16-megapixel OmniVision OV16E1Q. The creators note that the light transmission in the camera area was increased by 30% compared to the previous generation camera. New AI algorithms should also positively affect the quality of shooting.
If most flagship manufacturers have switched to using 50-megapixel Sony sensors, Nubia is holding on to 64-megapixel sensors of not the latest generations. So, the main module uses a 64-megapixel Sony IMX787 sensor. Also in the main module is a lens with a focal length of 35 mm, although most other phones have a focal length of the main lens of 24-25 mm.
There is optical stabilization in the main module, and it is also in the module with a telephoto lens with a focal length of 85 mm. This module also has a 64-megapixel sensor (optical format – 1/2 inch) and has an OIS system. A single 50-megapixel sensor is used in the module with an ultra wide-angle lens with a 116° field of view. The main camera system also includes a multi-channel spectral sensor.
The hardware platform of the Nubia Z50 Ultra is a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, complemented by LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 flash memory. The battery capacity was 5000 mAh, it supports 80 W charging.
Other features of the novelty include a large evaporation chamber for adequate cooling of the SoC (the area is 4214 mm2), an NFC chip, stereo speakers, a Bluetooth 5.3 adapter, and an IR emitter.
The phone is running Android 13 with MyOS13 interface. The developers have made it so that the user can remove almost all pre-installed applications, except for the 8 main ones. Xiaomi did the same with its new MIUI 14 interface.
As for prices, they look like this: 8/256GB – $580, 12/256GB – $620, 12/512GB – $680, 16GB/1TB – $865. The Nubia Z50 Ultra also has a special version with 12/512 GB of memory and an image of Van Gogh’s “Starry Night” painting on the back panel. This one is priced at $720.

The transition between Oppo, Xiaomi and Vivo smartphones has become even easier: now all data is transferred

Today, March 22, the developers of ColorOS, MIUI and OriginOS confirmed that owners of the respective phones will be able to seamlessly switch from one model to another without worrying about their data.
Oppo, Xiaomi and Vivo have agreed to expand cooperation. In addition to data such as photos and contacts, data from third-party applications is also transferred.
To do this, you need to update the corresponding software on Oppo smartphones to version 13.3.7 and higher, Xiaomi to version 4.0.0 and higher, Vivo to version 6.2.5.1 and higher. Previously, transferring data between these smartphones had to be done using third-party software. This method was often slow, consumed traffic and reduced information security.
Now three brands have built-in mutual transmission functions in mobile phones, which is safer and more convenient. With the creation of the Mutual Transmission Alliance, Oppo, Xiaomi and Vivo phones exchange information with one touch, and when changing phones, there is no need to worry about correspondence and other data.
Mutual Transmission Alliance was founded back in 2019.
