Another cheaper video card for less. Say goodbye to GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, manufacturers are switching from it to more expensive GeForce RTX 3070

The crisis of video cards did not come to us yesterday, and, apparently, will be delayed for a long time. The difficult situation in the market turns into huge expenses not only for ordinary consumers, but also for producers. As a result, the latter optimize their production processes, and often to the detriment of the former’s wallets.

RIP GeForce RTX 3060 Ti?

For example, this is how the situation with the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti can be described. On paper, this model looks very attractive: at a price lower than the GeForce RTX 3070, it is built on the same GA104 GPU and offers almost the same performance. It is logical that for users of the RTX 3060 Ti it is more profitable, but for manufacturers the situation is the opposite: the costs of manufacturing the RTX 3060 Ti and RTX 3070 are very close, while the recommended cost of the former is $ 100 less than the latter. It is clear that neither one nor the other model can be bought in retail at the recommended price, but that’s another story. The fact is that the difference in those same $ 100 does not cover the production costs, and therefore it is more profitable for manufacturers to release the more expensive GeForce RTX 3070.

In general, rumors that the GeForce RTX 3070 is more profitable for video card manufacturers have been circulating for a long time, as well as that companies are gradually reducing the production volumes of the RTX 3060 Ti, compensating for this by increasing the production volumes of the more expensive RTX 3070, which provides more profit. While the RTX 3060 Ti can still be found on sale, but if the situation on the video card market remains as tense (and, according to the latest data, the shortage will last until the end of this year), we risk being left without the RTX 3060 Ti. Coupled with the inability to buy an RTX 3060 at an adequate cost, the picture is not at all rosy, especially for gamers.

GeForce RTX 3080 with 12 GB may return to the market a few months after the end of production.

Nvidia has decided to bring back a graphics card it abandoned two months ago. Rumors talk about the resumption of production of the GeForce RTX 3080 12GB

The source says that Nvidia has decided to bring this model back into service so that it can help get rid of the GA102 GPU stock faster.

The fate of the RTX 3080 with 12 GB of memory was very strange. Initially, the card was presented at the beginning of 2022 at CES 2022, then it was re-announced a week and a half later and put on sale without announcing the price, and already in June, Nvidia decided to abandon this model, stopping production. Over the past two months, the cryptocurrency market has collapsed even more, the prices of video cards have gone down, but Nvidia’s warehouses are still full, and the current generation GPU needs to be disposed of, since there is already a new one on the nose.

In terms of specs, the RTX 3080 12GB has 8960 CUDA cores and a 384-bit memory bus.

Intel graphics cards have finally made their way to the US, but are they needed at these prices? Arc A380 is asking $140

At the same time, not the Gunnir model will be available in the USA, but the product of the more familiar ASRock. Asking for such an adapter will be $ 140. To be more precise, the video card is already available for order, and deliveries are expected on August 22.

The card itself is nothing special: it is a compact solution with one fan, one HDMI port and three DisplayPorts. To work, the card requires a single eight-pin power connector.

The Arc A380 with Resizable BAR technology enabled is on average 5-10% slower than the Radeon RX 6400. In the same NewEgg store, the AMD card is sold from $140, which means it is somewhat more profitable, and it has no problems with drivers. The Radeon RX 6500 XT starts at $180 and offers another level of performance.
