Pros and cons of iPhone 13. What they write about news from CNN, Engadget, Wired and other specialized publications

After the first review of the iPhone 13 Pro by The Verge, excerpts from which we have already published, reviews of CNN, Engadget, Wired and other authoritative publications appeared on the Web.

Reviewers are praising the smartphone’s improved cameras and display, dropping 64GB and upgrading to 128GB of flash storage. They also agree on their criticism of Lighting, whereas most of the iPad lineup now uses USB-C.

Also, all reviews confirm the increased battery life that iPhone users have long dreamed of. All models of the new line began to work longer. In particular, the iPhone 13 mini began to work much longer: if last year’s iPhone 12 mini was discharged by lunchtime, then the iPhone 13 mini can work all day, albeit with “light use.” That being said, the iPhone 13 can last up to two days, which is really impressive.

As for the display, there are pros and cons. CNN notes improvements in maximum brightness that make the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini easier to use in bright environments. However, they do not support 120Hz refresh rates. This feature is only available on the iPhone 13 Pro or iPhone 13 Pro Max. Wired also praises 120 hertz displays, which are adaptive to efficiently save power.

New smartphones take great pictures, but revolutionary changes should not be expected. Wired writes that smartphones are “still excellent” in photography, although the WSJ warns that iPhone 12 owners probably shouldn’t change their smartphones. Differences between photos taken with iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 are difficult to notice, although if you have an iPhone XR or iPhone 11 then replacing them with an iPhone 13 would be more logical.

At this stage, the cinematic mode seems to be more of a curiosity than a real “professional” feature. The Verge notes that it is fun to experiment with, but also warns, “It seems like it has a few years before it really becomes useful for anything other than casual use.” The WSJ criticized this video mode, claiming that it is difficult to distinguish the edges of objects.

As a result, most reviewers agree that the owners of the iPhone 12 are unlikely to change their smartphones, but the rest of the iPhone 13 fans will definitely like it very much.

Xiaomi Civi will still be a completely new smartphone. It will receive a 108 megapixel sensor like the Galaxy S21 Ultra

Yesterday we wrote that Xiaomi is preparing a new line of smartphones – Civi. The new items are expected to replace the CC series in China. Yesterday it was said that the renamed Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE will be the first device of the Civi series, but today the data is different. Firstly, the device was lit live in a video, and screenshots (they are of poor quality, but still) indicate that the Civi is an independent model. Secondly, the details about the camera say the same.

The very last screenshot shows that the Xiaomi Civi camera unit is in the shape of a rectangle, not a square with rounded corners like the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE. It looks more like a Xiaomi 11T or Poco M3 Pro camera unit. The front panel is also not like the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE – with a camera embedded in the center of the screen, and not in the corner.

And the most important thing is the camera image sensor. If Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE has 64-megapixel, then Civi is assigned a 108-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL HM3 sensor – exactly the same one used in the Galaxy S21 Ultra! But the cost of the Civi will clearly be less than that of the current flagship Samsung. In general, the new data gives hope that the Civi will turn out to be a stand-alone model and will continue the traditions laid down in the Mi Note 10 Pro (Mi CC9 Pro) – a popular mid-range camera phone. Recall that the official premiere of Xiaomi Civi will take place on September 27.

Samsung Galaxy S22 was visually compared with Galaxy S21 and iPhone 13. So far, the comparison is only in the pictures.

According to all available data, the Samsung Galaxy S22 smartphone will be smaller than its predecessor and, in general, will become one of the most compact flagships of 2022.

The well-known insider Ice Univerce clearly compared the dimensions of the Galaxy S22 with both the older models of the line and the Galaxy S21 and iPhone 13.

Samsung Galaxy S22 was visually compared with Galaxy S21 and iPhone 13. So far, the comparison is only in the pictures.

As you can see, the Galaxy S22 will be significantly smaller than the Galaxy S21 and slightly more compact than the iPhone 13. In the latter case, the Samsung flagship will be slightly lower and slightly narrower, which is explained, among other things, by a slightly smaller screen: 6.06 versus 6.1 inches.

Why Samsung decided to downsize the base flagship at a time when everyone, on the contrary, is trying to increase screen diagonals is unclear, but some of the buyers will obviously like it.
