“And she has strong teeth” – a woman gnawed through an anti-theft cable to steal an iPhone
A woman in China has been arrested for chewing through an anti-theft cable to steal a $960 iPhone 14 Plus.
The unusual theft was recorded by a security camera. The video shows Qiu stopping in front of a stand with a smartphone, leaning on the counter and placing his right hand on the phone. She bites the cable several times, puts the phone in her bag and leaves the store.
The store manager, surnamed Wang, said that an alarm went off during the theft. However, employees initially did not notice anything unusual. Shortly after Qiu left, store employees noticed the cable and the missing phone, and then called the police. CCTV footage soon revealed what had happened, and the police were able to track down Qiu and arrest her outside her home 30 minutes after the theft.
Netizens admired her teeth, “And she has strong teeth.” Others were surprised: “Doesn’t she know that there are surveillance cameras everywhere?”

Nokia has returned to the smartphone market? The company has released the HHRA501x and IS540.1 devices, but it calls them industrial laptops

Nokia has, in a sense, returned to the smartphone market. New products called Nokia HHRA501x and Nokia IS540.1 were released by Finnish Nokia, and not by HBM Global. True, these are not exactly smartphones.
Nokia itself in a press release calls the devices industrial portable computers. The devices are designed for use in harsh industrial environments and are well protected – these are not everyday consumer solutions.
In addition to protection from water and dust (IP68) and compliance with the MIL-STD-810H standard, the new products offer touch-sensitive screens with gloves, slots for two SIM cards and eSIM support, replaceable batteries, EMBMS support, a 16-pin connector for connecting accessories and much more.
More familiar technical parameters are not indicated on the site, but third-party resources say that the Nokia IS540.1 has a six-inch screen, Qualcomm QCM6490 SoC, 8/128 GB of memory, a 48-megapixel camera and a 4400 mAh battery. All this runs on Android 12.

The old Xiaomi Mi 10S and Mi 10 Pro are better than the latest iPhone 15 Pro Max. The sound subsystem of an Apple smartphone has been tested by DxOmark specialists

The iPhone 15 Pro Max, like all other Apple smartphones, offers very high-quality speakers. Far from being the best on the market. At least, judging by DxOMark tests.
The smartphone scored 143 points, taking 12th place and becoming one step higher than its predecessor. Above are mostly gaming smartphones, which often stand out for their excellent stereo sound. But also better than the new iPhone were Honor Magic3 Pro+, Huawei Mate 50 Pro and the already middle-aged Xiaomi Mi 10S and Mi 10 Pro.
At the same time, the iPhone 15 Pro Max outperforms all other 2023 flagships that are in the source database. For example, the Galaxy S23 Ultra has 139 points.
It can also be noted that the new Apple product became the best in the DxOMark rating in terms of the number of sound artifacts during recording, although during playback everything is completely different: the device has 91 points against a record 157 points.

The first iPhone 15 Pro appeared with a swollen battery. It is quite possible that this was due to overheating

It looks like the iPhone 15 Pro’s overheating issues may not only lead to Apple eventually lowering the frequency of the A17 Pro SoC. A description of the first case of a swollen battery in a new Apple product has appeared on the Internet.
Reddit user Leather_Cheerio_402 posted the photo you can see above. He wrote that he took the phone off the charger on Monday and did not notice any swelling then.
A couple of days ago I put on the case and noticed that it didn’t fit. I was going to order a new case, but then I realized that the phone was really bloating. Still working so far
Contacting the nearest Apple Store did not help: the smartphone was purchased from Verizon, so the Apple store advised to contact the operator. However, Apple stores usually accept the company’s equipment, regardless of where it was purchased (within the country, and sometimes not only). Verizon agreed to replace the smartphone.
Of course, the story can be made up, but the user has been on the platform for more than two years and has almost 4,000 karma points.
