An unexpected competitor to Nvidia and AMD. The Chinese from Innoslicon presented a gaming video card with 32 GB of GDDR6X memory

While Intel is just about to return to the discrete graphics market with its Arc line, the Chinese company Innoslicon has already done so. It presented on the home market ready-made solutions based on its own GPU, and these solutions are quite gaming, since compatibility with all major APIs is declared – OpenGL, OpenGL ES, OpenCL, Vulkan and DirectX. True, the version of DirectX is not reported.

At the official event, Innoslicon presented a total of four products (video cards), all based on the Fantasy One GPU. Moreover, there are video cards with one such GPU, and with two.

Thus, the Type A 3D card, designed for both user PCs and workstations, is based on a single GPU with a performance of 5 TFLOPS. The video card is equipped with DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.1 and, interestingly, D-Sub video outputs. In a configuration of 16 GB of GDDR6X memory with … 128-bit bus. Moreover, the memory operates at a frequency of 19 GHz. Until recently, GDDR6X was exclusive to Nvidia Ampere video cards, but now it is registered in Chinese video cards as well. True, it is impossible to use it to the full because of the narrow bus, as a result, the maximum memory bandwidth is only 304 GB / s, that is, no more than that of the Radeon RX 6700 XT.

Innosilicon Fantasy One Type A is presented in two versions: in the usual two-slot version with two fans and in a stripped-down single-slot version with one centrifugal fan, it has less memory.

Fantasy One Type B with three fans (and also in the version with a completely passive cooling system!) Is more interesting, since there are already two GPUs interconnected by the Innolink bus. Accordingly, the performance here is twice as high as that of a single-processor video card – 10 TFLOPS, and GDDR6X memory is twice as large – 32 GB. At the same time, the width of the memory bus has not changed – all the same 128 bits. Both lines, and Type A, and Type B, are designed for connection to the PCI-Express 4.0 x16 slot.

During the event, the video cards were tested with the Unigine Heaven benchmark, but, alas, there were no results. The company has already announced work on the next generation GPUs – Fantasy 2 and Fantasy 3, and they will be presented next year. These GPUs will be manufactured using the 5nm process technology. The GPU Fantasy One process technology has yet to be confirmed.

No successor has yet been released for the Cortex-A510, but Arm has improved this core, maintaining performance while reducing power consumption by 5%.

Nvidia released the 150 GeForce GTX 1630 and its weaker

Nvidia has introduced the GeForce GTX 1630, which can be called a severely stripped-down version of the GTX 1650. What is a card so primitive by modern standards capable of? Large reviews have already appeared on the Web, and we will take the TechPowerUp material as a basis.

As you can see, in Full HD, and at higher resolutions, such a card does not make sense, the GTX 1630 is very far behind even the Radeon RX 6400. The junior AMD adapter is ahead by almost 60%, and this is an abyss.

If you look at the average performance in games, we are talking about only 24 fps, that is, on average, the new product is not able to provide proper performance in modern games at maximum settings. Unfortunately, there is nothing in the list of source adapters that even roughly matches the GTX 1630. But if you look at older reviews, you can find that the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti at one time lagged behind the GTX 1650 not as much as the GTX 1630 lagged behind That is, the new Nvidia is even a little weaker than the GTX 1050 Ti. Actually, tests from other sources confirm this.

And here it would be useful to remember that the GTX 1050 Ti was introduced in 2016 and was priced at that time at $140. And the GTX 1630 costs $150. That is, Nvidia in 2022 released a video card of about the same level and at about the same price as six years ago.

Of the rest, only power consumption can be noted. In games, the adapter requires only about 50 watts, and the maximum that we managed to achieve from the card is 71 watts.

At first there were rumors about this, then AMD officially confirmed everything: the powerful AMD Threadripper 5000WX processors will go on sale and become available to everyone. As it turned out, the CPU is already available in China.

In the meantime, sellers are asking for Threadripper 5000WX much more than what they asked for their predecessors. Thus, the 64-core Threadripper 5995WX is offered for $7,030, while the official cost of the Threadripper 3995WX is $5,850. The 32-core Threadripper 5975WX is priced at $3,590, while its predecessor, the Threadripper 3975WX, is officially listed at $2,750. The Threadripper 5965WX is also available in China for the equivalent of $2,570.
