Opera Software has announced the launch of an innovation for the Opera GX browser. As a reminder, Opera GX is being promoted as a browser designed specifically for gamers. The innovation is intended to brighten up the moments when Wi-Fi suddenly disappears for game lovers.
In this case, the arcade game Operius appeared in the browser, which can be played offline. Created with GameMaker Studio 2 engine, the game will automatically appear in the browser every time the connection fails. If someone wants to play Operius on a stable internet, they can simply type opera: // operius in the Opera GX address bar.
Operius was selected through a competition involving more than 900 games created in GameMaker Studio 2. As a result, Operius won a poll where more than 100,000 Opera GX and GameMaker users voted for eight games selected by experts.
Operius features retro graphics inspired by 1980s space arcade shooters and a soundtrack from Catonator. Multiplayer is available to players without the Internet: in order to do this, you need to enter the mode for two players and then share the keyboard with a friend.

Netflix has a new hit: it overtook the “Squid Game”
Another South Korean series Netflix set a record for the most watched and overtook the previous leader. This is the series “Call of Hellbound” (Hellbound), which surpassed “Squid Game” (Squid Game) and became the most popular on Netflix.
According to FlixPatrol analysts, Call of Hell was the most watched Netflix TV series in the world on November 20, topping the ratings in over 80 countries within 24 hours of the show’s release. It was directed and written by Yong Sang Ho (“Train to Busan” and “Train to Busan 2: Peninsula”).
The Call of Hell series is a completely original project by Netflix, the plot of which is about supernatural beings who take people to hell. A pilot episode aired at the 2021 Toronto International Film Festival in September.
The Squid Game, which premiered on September 19, was ranked # 1 on Netflix’s most watched TV series for 46 consecutive days. In October, 142 million households in 94 countries watched the show. This earned Netflix about $ 900 million.
Earlier this month, “Squid Games” director Hwang Dong Hyuk confirmed that filming for the second season was imminent.
SPC Gear Viro Infra headset is addressed to game lovers
The SPC Gear brand, chosen by SilentiumPC to promote products aimed at gamers, is the VIRO Infra on-ear headset. According to the manufacturer, these headphones “not only provide high-quality sound, but are also incredibly comfortable and durable.”
The headphones are complemented by a removable microphone and a built-in remote control that allows you to quickly adjust the volume, mute and unmute the microphone. The durable metal headband is encased in a soft leatherette shell, and the perforated material of the ear cushions provides “thermal comfort” to the ears. The ear cushions are filled with foam, which provides sound insulation due to a snug fit.
The headphones use 50mm drivers. The range of reproducible frequencies is declared equal to 20 – 20,000 Hz. The body of the cups is made of damage-resistant plastic, which is additionally reinforced with metal panels. Despite the solid construction, the earbuds weigh only 256 grams.
The directional microphone makes the user’s voice stand out from the surrounding sounds.
Thanks to a standard 3.5 mm jack, the novelty is compatible with PCs, smartphones, consoles and other devices. It costs 38 euros.
