An era is gone: the last public payphone was dismantled in New York
On Monday, an important event took place in New York: the last public payphone (street pay phone) was removed from the streets of the city. Previously, telephone booths were one of the symbols of the city, but due to the spread of mobile communications, they turned out to be unnecessary.
An initiative to replace payphones throughout the city began in 2014 when the Bill de Blasio administration requested proposals to rethink the service. CityBridge has chosen CityBridge to design and operate LinkNYC’s kiosks, which offer services such as free phone calls, Wi-Fi, and device charging. In 2015, the city began removing street payphones to replace them with LinkNYC kiosks.
“Just as we have moved from horse and cart to automobile and from automobile to aircraft, digital evolution has evolved from pay phones to high-speed Wi-Fi kiosks to meet the demands of our rapidly changing daily communication needs,” said the CEO. New York City Department of Technology Development Matthew Fraser.
The latest payphone will be on display at the Museum of the City of New York as part of an exhibition dedicated to the life of the city before the advent of computers.

Tomorrow NASA will launch the Capstone spacecraft to the moon. It will allow to calculate the orbit for the future American lunar station Gateway

The US National Aeronautics and Space Administration has postponed the launch of the Capstone spacecraft from June 27 to June 28. The reason for the postponement of the launch is to conduct a “final check of the systems” of the launch.
Capstone should help calculate the orbit for the future lunar station Gateway. The spacecraft weighing about 25 kg is planned to be launched from Rocket Lab’s spaceport in New Zealand. NASA believes that Capstone will reach the goal in three months and spend at least six months in orbit. The space department indicates that the Capstone trajectory scheme is such that the device will arrive in its lunar orbit on November 13, regardless of the launch date “in the current period” – which is any day before July 27.

Weaker than any video card of modern generations. GeForce GTX 1630 images revealed

Images of the GeForce GTX 1630 graphics card have appeared on the Web, which should hit the market tomorrow if Nvidia does not postpone the launch again.
The model is very similar to MSI cards, but this device is from Colorful. The adapter of the BattleAx line received a cooling system with a pair of fans, but the radiator does not have a single heat pipe. However, given the parameters of the GTX 1630, its power consumption will be low.
Ports include HDMI, DisplayPort, and the now rare DVI. To work, the card still requires a six-pin power connector.
Recall that the new Nvidia is based on the TU117 GPU with 512 CUDA cores. She also received 4 GB of memory and a 64-bit bus. The adapter is expected to be even slightly slower than the GTX 1050 Ti.
