One of the problems of laptops today is their short battery life – the best samples reach 15-20 hours, but only in economy mode. And so engineer Andreas Eriksen decided to change that. He built an unusual PotatoP laptop, which is said to be able to work without recharging for two years.

The fact is that this device is equipped with a 4.4-inch Sharp Memory monochrome screen and a Sparkfun Artemis board with an Arm Cortex-M4F microprocessor, whose frequency is 96 MHz. The chip consumes less than 6 mA, and a 12,000 mAh battery is used as a power source.

At the same time, the power of the laptop is enough to work in the LISP environment, and the laptop is based on the PotatOS operating system, as the author calls it.

As for the name of the device itself, it consists of the word “Potato” – a potato, as well as the suffix toP (for laptop).
