Meizu has officially unveiled its first smartwatch – Meizu Watch. The novelty is made in a casing made of a single piece of 6000 series aluminum and is protected from water and other external influences. So, curved tempered Gorilla Glass provides screen protection. The display itself is represented by a 46 mm AMOLED panel with a pixel density of 326 per inch.

The back panel of the device has an anti-allergenic ceramic surface, and in general the case is designed in such a way that the watch is practically not felt by the user while wearing it.

The novelty is built on a 12-nanometer single-chip Qualcomm Wear 4100 platform and is powered by Flyme For Watch based on Android – a version of the Flyme smartphone interface adapted for use in smart watches. Flyme For Watch has made over 300 important changes, including making the interface smoother on a 60Hz screen. It is important to note that a proprietary application for synchronizing a smartphone with a watch has been released both for the traditional Android and iOS app catalogs, and for HarmonyOS.

Meizu Watch uses an embedded SIM (eSIM) card, so users can use the device completely autonomously, without being tied to a smartphone. The watch itself receives and sends text messages, itself receives calls and provides the user with access to the Network. Interestingly, there are no LTE modem antenna strips on the metal frame, but this should not affect the signal reception quality.

There is also an NFC module in the device – with it you can pay for purchases, open doors and pay for travel in transport. Meizu Watch provides monitoring of sleep, stress, heart rate (24/7) and supports the determination of blood oxygen saturation.

The watch works offline for only 36 hours, but it charges pretty quickly – 100% in 45 minutes. For recharging, a miniature docking station with a magnetic mount is used – a USB-C cable is connected to it.

The novelty will go on sale in China tomorrow. The cost of the Meizu Watch is $ 235. The company believes that the device is able to compete for the market with smartwatches from Xiaomi, OnePlus, Vivo and other companies.
