One of the users was able to test the not yet officially presented mobile APU AMD Ryzen 7 5800U in the CPU-Z benchmark. Recall that the Ryzen 7 5800U is built on the Zen3 architecture and belongs to the Cezanne line. It includes an eight-core, multithreading CPU running at 2.0-4.4 GHz, 2MB L2 cache and 16MB L3 cache, and a Vega GPU. TDP APU – 15 to 25 W.
We recently had the opportunity to compare the Cezanne die with the current Renoir die, and now we are comparing the performance of the Ryzen 7 5800U and the desktop 95W 8-core Core i9-9900KF.
As you can see, in the multi-threaded test, the Ryzen 7 5800U is about 40% inferior to the desktop ex-Intel flagship, but in the single-threaded test it bypasses! The 10% difference in favor of the new AMD product is an amazing result, especially considering the fact that the Core i9-9900KF is capable of overclocking to 5.0 GHz. In general, due to the high clock speed of the CPU, Intel has always performed very well in single-threaded tests, but at first such superiority was broken by the desktop Ryzen 5000, and now the mobile Ryzen 5000 APUs will do the same.
In addition to CPU-Z, the Ryzen 7 5800U was also tested in Cinebench R20 and Cinebench R23. The results, respectively, are as follows:
- Single-threaded test: 1311 points;
- Multi-threaded test: 9326 points.
- Single-threaded test: 509 points;
- Multi-threaded test: 3614 points.
For comparison, according to the same insider, AMD Ryzen 7 4800U scores 479 points in Cinebench R20 in a single-threaded test and 2836 points in a multi-threaded one. So the new APU is faster than its predecessor by 6.2% and 27.4%, respectively.
