AMD Radeon RX 7000 graphics cards will become similar to GeForce RTX cards. RDNA 3 architecture received instructions for working with matrices
The new AMD Radeon RX 7000 graphics cards are likely to be a bit more like Nvidia GeForce RTX adapters.
Data about the GFX11 architecture, also known as RDNA 3, has appeared on the Web. And this architecture will receive its own instructions that can work with matrices.
Wave Matrix Multiply-Accumulate (WMMA) has been added to the architecture. This instruction will work with matrices of numbers. This data type is heavily used by AI/ML algorithms to multiply large sets of numbers. In fact, this is something similar to what is implemented in the last two Nvidia architectures in GeForce RTX video cards as part of tensor cores. Recall that they are needed there for hardware acceleration of the DLSS technology.
Whether RDNA 3 will have separate cores similar to those in Nvidia cards is not yet clear, but there has been no such data previously. In any case, the presence of WMMA should allow the Radeon RX 7000 graphics cards to better handle supersampling, and the new version of FSR 3.0 just can take full advantage of the new features of RDNA 3.

Enthusiast created an AI damper to stop his cat from bringing dead mice and birds into the house

Smee spoke about a funny case of high technology in the UK. Martin Rozinski has moved into a new home with his girlfriend Michelle and cat Jinx. And it seems that the cat liked it so much that she decided to thank people. But she did it her way, bringing dead mice and birds right into the house. Most often this happened at night.
As a result, Martin came up with a system he called OnlyCat. It includes an AI camera that recognizes not only the cat, but also its prey. If Jinx comes with prey, then the system simply does not open the cat door for the animal. Also, a photo of the “gift” comes to the phones of the owners.
Rozinski said that this system prevented the cat from bringing 42 victims into the house, which kept the carpet clean and relieved Jinx owners from stress.
Now the author intends to bring the product to market, for which he contacted the engineering company Transmission Dynamics, where his brother works. The project is planned to be funded through crowdfunding.

12,228 stream processors, 384-bit memory bus, and 192MB fast cache. Possible characteristics of the Radeon RX 7900 XT

Another portion of preliminary details about AMD’s new generation 3D cards has been published on the Web.
It is assumed that the Radeon RX 7900 XT will be built on the Navi 31 GPU, consisting of one GCD module (the equivalent of CCD in Ryzen processors) with 12,288 stream processors and six MCD modules – each with 16 MB of third-level cache (Infinity Cache) and 64 -bit memory controller. In total, this gives 96 MB of cache memory and a 384-bit bus, but the use of bulk packaging technology will allow each MCD to place another cache chip, as a result, the total volume of Infinity Cahce will be 192 MB.
This is the full Navi 31 configuration, but there will also be a stripped-down version – with 10,752 stream processors and five MCDs – with 160 MB of Infinity Cache and a 320-bit bus. Such a GPU could form the basis of the Radeon RX 7800 XT.
Navi 32 is another contender for the Radeon RX 7800 XT (or more likely the Radeon RX 7800). It predicts the presence of 7680 stream processors, a 256-bit bus and 64 MB of Infinity Cache (there will be no additional cache memory chips). Finally, the Radeon RX 7700 XT can get a monolithic Navi 33 GPU with 4096 stream processors and 32 MB Infinity Cahce and a 128-bit bus.

Intel hinted at the prices of older graphics cards Arc A770 and A750

Intel is still keeping the intrigue and does not name the exact prices for its Arc A770 and Arc A750 video cards. However, it seems that the chipmaker himself hinted at their cost.
As noted, participants in the Xe HPG Scavenger Hunt contest can choose the Core i7-12700K and Core i5-12600K processors as a prize – this is offered as an alternative to the Arc A770 and Arc A750, respectively. Thus, knowing the recommended prices for chips, you can roughly calculate the prices of video cards.
This suggests that the price of the top-end Arc A770 will not exceed $410, and the Arc A750 – $290. Of course, this is just an estimated cost.
Note that the letters received by the participants of the event say that the cards will debut soon, but it will not be specified whether this will happen in the summer. Perhaps they will appear in the fall.
In terms of specifications, the A770 will be based on the ACM-G10 GPU with 4096 cores clocked at up to 2.5GHz. She is promised 16 GB of GDDR6 video memory with an effective frequency of 15.5 GHz, as well as a 256-bit bus.
The Arc A750 version will get the same chip but with 3584 cores. Also, the card will have 8 GB of GDDR6 memory with a frequency of 15.5 GHz and a 256-bit bus.
