AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT Overclocked to 2.8 GHz, Setting New World Record in 3DMark Fire Strike

Previously, the Radeon RX 6800 XT was overclocked to 2.65 GHz, but it turned out that this is not the limit and the video card can be overclocked even more. The Chinese overclocker overclocked the Radeon RX 6800 XT Big Navi even more using liquid nitrogen.

Without nitrogen, the AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT graphics card was overclocked to 2.65 GHz, which is already an excellent result. But Chinese overlocker Takukou overclocked AMD’s reference Radeon RX 6800 XT to 2.8GHz with LN2 cooling. Overclocking was paired with an AMD Ryzen 9 5950X processor, which ran at 5.6GHz and used 32GB of DDR4 RAM.

The Radeon RX 6800 XT scored 48,890 points and 61,831 graphics points in the 3DMark Fire Strike benchmark. The Radeon RX 6800 XT has become not only the fastest graphics card at the moment, it has overcome the 60K point barrier in 3DMark Fire Strike. If we compare the result with the previous one, then the performance gain was 4%, with an increase in the clock frequency by 150 MHz.

Perhaps soon overlockers will bring AMD graphics cards to 3 GHz, breaking the 2016 record set on the GeForce GTX 1060.
