AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT Breaks World Record in 3DMark Fire Strike

The launch of the new Radeon RX 6800 and 6800 XT has become, as users expected, paper, like the situation with the Ryzen processors of the Vermeer family and the RTX 3000 series graphics cards from Nvidia. However, some still managed to get hold of copies of unavailable video cards and are already setting world records. If only not on paper.

The famous site HWBot, something like the Guinness Book of Records for overclockers, has replenished with a new world record in the 3DMark Fire Strike discipline for systems with one video card.

The record was set by user Lucky_n00b, who used a Radeon RX 6800 XT graphics card overclocked to 2.65 GHz. The most interesting thing is that the video card was cooled not with liquid nitrogen, not with a phase transition, and not even with a water cooling system. This record was set on an ordinary factory-cooled reference card!

By the way, the previous record belongs to the RTX 3090 graphics card in overclocking, which was cooled with liquid nitrogen. Curious what kind of monster the RX 6900 XT will be if the younger version is out in the air faster than the top-end competitors.

For the test, we also overclocked the Ryzen 9 5950X processor to 5.42 GHz under liquid nitrogen on the MSI MEG X570 GODLIKE motherboard. The RAM ran at 4000 MHz and CL14.
