Historically, AMD has worked with two semiconductor contract manufacturers: TSMC and GlobalFoundries. According to the latest report from Gokul Hariharan, an analyst at JP Morgan, AMD may soon bring in another manufacturing partner to release the processors. The point is that AMD can start cooperation with the South Korean giant Samsung and use the proprietary 4LPP technical process, which is the second generation of technical processes based on the use of 4 nm standards. It has been selected for AMD APUs for Google Chromebooks – mobile computers that require low power consumption to maximize battery life.
AMD may take this step in late 2022, since Samsung’s 4LPP process technology will be available in mass production by then. This means that the first AMD APUs from Samsung could hit the market in late 2022 or early 2023. Of course, the cooperation between the two companies can be much broader. AMD is allegedly evaluating the possibility of using Samsung’s 3nm manufacturing processes to launch other products from different segments in 2023 or 2024. The parties have not yet entered into appropriate agreements, therefore, the information provided by JP Morgan should be taken with a grain of salt.

Cooler Master announced the release of the MasterBox TD300 Mesh computer case. An interesting detail of this mini-ITX or microATX case is the mesh front panel. The grid is not flat, as is usually the case, but curly. The manufacturer calls it polygonal, noting that the proprietary FineMesh technology is used to give the grid the desired shape. The meshes are said to provide high airflow and excellent dust filtration at the same time. Behind the mesh are two 120mm addressable backlit fans. They are connected to a built-in hub with five ARGB ports and four PWM ports.
These fans can be replaced with 140mm ones. If you put the fans not immediately behind the grid, but behind the front wall, you can install three 140mm fans. Additionally, two 120mm or 140mm fans can be installed on the top wall, one 120mm on the back. The top and front walls are suitable for radiators up to 280 mm long. A 120 mm radiator can be mounted on the back wall.
The case with dimensions of 433 x 210 x 420.5 mm has four slots for expansion cards up to 344 mm long. The maximum allowable height of the processor cooling system is 166 mm, the length of the power supply is 140 mm. If you remove the basket for drives and do not put a radiator on the front wall, the power supply can be up to 325 mm long.
The designers have provided the ability to install two 3.5″ or 2.5″ drives and two 2.5″ drives.
The I/O panel has USB-A connectors for two USB 3.2 Gen1 ports and separate headphone and microphone jacks.
The manufacturer does not name the price of the Cooler Master MasterBox TD300 Mesh case. It is known that the case will be offered in black and white versions.
The Cooler Master HAF 500 comes with four fans, including two 200mm
Cooler Master’s HAF (High Air Flow) case lineup has been expanded with the HAF 500. Its exterior design immediately draws attention to its mesh front panel, behind which two 200mm addressable backlit fans are installed.
The 516 x 224 x 510 mm case is designed to accept a mini-ITX, microATX, ATX, or E-ATX motherboard. It has seven slots for expansion cards. The maximum card length is 410 mm. As for other restrictions, the height of the processor cooling system can be more than 167 mm, and an ATX power supply up to 180 mm long is placed in the lower compartment.
Next to the PSU there is space for two 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch drives. The top bay of the case has attachment points for two more 2.5-inch drives.
In addition to the two already mentioned 200mm fans, the manufacturer installs two 120mm ones. One of them is located on the back wall, and the other one is on the storage basket. Its task is to create an airflow to cool the video card. Instead of 200mm fans, two 140mm or three 120mm fans can be installed on the front wall. In addition, three 120mm or two 140mm or two 200mm fans can be mounted on the top wall. In versions with LSS, the top and front walls are suitable for radiators up to 360 mm long, the rear one is suitable for a 120 mm radiator.
On the I / O panel, you can find two USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A port connectors, one USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C connector, a headphone and microphone jack, and a backlight control button. The manufacturer does not disclose the price of the novelty.
Nvidia has increased the cost of GeForce RTX 30 Founders Edition graphics cards in Europe
Various sources are talking about an increase in the supply of Ampere video cards, quotes for Bitcoin, Ethereum and other cryptocurrencies are falling rapidly, but Nvidia does not believe that it is time to reduce the cost of video cards. On the contrary, the company raised the recommended prices for the GeForce RTX 30 in Europe. True, the rise in price affected only the reference 3D cards – Founders Edition.
The picture below shows the new and old prices. As you can see, the top model GeForce RTX 3090 added the most – 100 euros at once. The GeForce RTX 3060 Ti has risen in price the least – by 20 euros. The average increase was about 5.5%.
There is no data yet on whether non-reference video cards will rise in price. But it seems to be much more. As for the Founders Edition, their supply and distribution channels are very limited, so the announced increase is unlikely to affect the market as a whole. The new pricing for the Founders Edition will apply in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Spain and Italy (plus the UK). Whether the GeForce RTX 30 Founders Edition will rise in price for other markets is not reported.
