AMD beats Intel by not waiting for Ryzen 7000. Ryzen 9 6900HS Benchmarks Show It Has Incredible Power Efficiency and Best iGPU
Today, several thematic resources published the first reviews of the AMD Ryzen 6000 mobile processor line on the Web.
In this case, almost all reviews feature the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 laptop based on the Ryzen 9 6900HS. Recall that this is a top-end eight-core hybrid processor, but with a TDP reduced to 35 W. And AMD did not lie, the new products turned out to be very worthy, and on all fronts at once.
Let’s start with the performance of the processor part. In general, the Ryzen 9 6900HS can be roughly compared to the Core i7-12700H. Although it is still quite difficult to compare, because for some reason all sources either paid insufficient attention to CPU performance, or chose far from the best applications for these purposes. So, you can see that in Hanbrake the Core i7-12700H processor is faster than the Ryzen 9 6900HS, and already in Blender the latter manages to compete on equal terms with the Core i9-12900HK, and outperforms it with limited power.
But with an integrated GPU, everything is much simpler – it is simply the fastest on the market. In 3DMark Time Spy, the new AMD is 33% faster than the Core i9-12900HK, while the Ryzen 9 5980HS is more than twice as fast! In Forza Horizon 5, AMD’s new flagship is almost twice as fast as Intel’s new flagship. These are simply solutions of different classes. It is also worth noting the result in Middle Earth, where the Radeon 680M performs at the level of the Core i7-8705G core. Recall that this is an Intel processor with an AMD Radeon RX Vega M GL graphics core, and this solution at one time could compete with the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti.
Well, perhaps AMD’s most impressive achievement in the Ryzen 6000 line is energy efficiency. The updated Zen 3+ architecture and 6nm process work wonders. If the previous generation ROG Zephyrus G14 on Ryzen 9 5900HS could play YouTube videos for almost six hours, then the new one shows the result of almost 11 and a half hours! Approximately the same difference between the new Asus and new products on the Core i7-12700H. That is, there is a gap between them. How AMD managed to create such a powerful processor with an incredibly powerful iGPU and so energy efficient at the same time is unclear. But against this background, you can imagine how impressive the desktop Ryzen 7000 will be.

Monitor with a giant curved 144Hz QD-OLED panel. Asus ROG Swift OLED PG49WDCD unveiled

Asus has revealed its new ROG Swift OLED PG49WDCD gaming monitor, which offers a very unusual feature set.
First, the monitor is huge. We are talking about a 49-inch panel. Secondly, this panel is curved. Thirdly, this is a QD-OLED panel, which is still very rare. Among other things, it is characterized by a peak brightness of 1000 cd / m2.
Fourthly, the resolution of this panel is 5120 x 1440 pixels, that is, the aspect ratio is 32:9. In addition, the panel supports a frame rate of 144 Hz.
From the rest, we can note support for USB Power Delivery with a power of 90 W, HDMI 2.1 ports and a stand that allows you to adjust the height of the panel. Price data is not yet available.

This is the second generation of the iconic NH-D15 super cooler. There are not many changes, but it’s still a long time to wait for the release

Noctua first showed a new generation of CPU cooler NH-D15.
Outwardly, the cooler has changed very little, so they decided not to change the name. But, for example, there were eight heat pipes against six in the first generation. In addition, the gap between the ribs was reduced from 1.9 to 1.6 mm.
Two new-generation 140mm fans will be responsible for airflow, details of which are not yet available. All of this combined should make the iconic cooler a bit more performant, although now, almost 10 years after its release, it is still one of the best-performing CPU coolers on the market.
Despite the demonstration, the release of the novelty is still far away: Noctua is going to release the cooler only next year.

A video card with a strange 7 GB of memory, and even a completely Chinese design. Moore Threads MTT S70 unveiled with RTX 3060 performance

The Chinese company Moore Threads introduced the MTT S70 video card, which was a step below the S80 model, released at the end of last year.
The novelty uses the same GPU, but instead of 4096 computing units, only 3584 are active. The GPU frequency is only 1.6-1.8 GHz. As a result, the performance of such an adapter reaches 11.2 TFLOPS. This is about the level of the GeForce RTX 3060, but only in the context of “dry” performance. In games, even the older S80 with varying degrees of success coped only with much older Nvidia adapters.
What is more interesting is the unique memory subsystem. There is 7 GB GDDR6 and a 224-bit bus. Apparently, no one has used this configuration before.
At the same time, the younger model, unlike the older one, does not support PCIe 5.0, being limited to PCIe 4.0. From the rest, we can note the length of 285 mm, three DisplayPort 1.4a ports and one HDMI 2.1.
Recall that Moore Threads video cards are based on the architecture of the company’s own design.
