All thanks to WhatsApp: 90 million users have joined Telegram in three weeks of January
WhatsApp users continue to flee to competing platforms, despite the fact that the deadline for the adoption of the new rules has been postponed from February to May. It became known about the new achievement of Telegram amid the ongoing scandal around WhatsApp.
In the service mailing list, the messenger team announced that they had crossed the threshold of 90 million registrations in January. This was reported by the unofficial Telegram Info channel, citing a screenshot as proof.
On January 12, Pavel Durov said: “In the last 72 hours alone, 25 million new users have joined Telegram.” As we can see, the sharp surge in popularity of Telegram has not subsided since then.
WhatsApp updated the policy on January 6, and also said that the new terms must be accepted by February 8. However, after receiving numerous negative feedback from users and criticism from the industry, the WhatsApp team decided to postpone the adoption of the rules by 3 months – until May 15.

It became known when MIUI 14 will be released for Xiaomi Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro and Mi 10 Lite

The Chinese resource ITHome announced when phones of the once flagship Xiaomi Mi 10 line will receive MIUI 14. This will happen in April this year. Moreover, the update will be based on Android 13, not Android 13.
The firmware will be released for Xiaomi Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro and Mi 10 Lite. It is also noted that recently Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro, Xiaomi 11 Lite and Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE received the latest version of MIUI 13.
Xiaomi previously officially confirmed that the devices of the Mi 10 line will receive MIUI 14. But the date or at least the approximate date for the release of the firmware was not indicated. It should be noted that in April MIUI 14 will be released for Xiaomi Mi 10 in China, but in other regions it will obviously appear later.

Windows 11 build released with 2 GB of RAM and 8 GB of storage space. It was not created by Microsoft

Third-party company NTDEV has unveiled a modification of Windows 11 called Tiny11. This is a light version of Windows 11 Pro 22H2, from which everything superfluous was removed, including the Microsoft Edge browser. At the same time, it left a calculator, notepad, Paint, terminal, Microsoft Store and features for people with disabilities.

The main feature of the assembly is reduced system requirements. If the regular Windows 11 Pro 22H2 requires 4 GB of RAM and at least 24 GB of disk space (official requirements say 64 GB), then the lite version is 2 GB and 8 GB, respectively. That is, it will work fine even on relatively weak PCs and laptops.
At the same time, the developers of the modification stated that this is not a hacked version, for activation you need to buy a license key from Microsoft or official partners. You can download the assembly here.
Microsoft has not yet responded to such experiments, so it is unclear whether they will prohibit such modifications.
Earlier it was reported that the company began to “spam” ads for Windows 11, displaying it in full screen, and it is difficult to refuse the installation.

OnePlus is on a par with Samsung. OnePlus 11 flagship will be updated to Android 17

Samsung is the leader among Android phone manufacturers in terms of software support duration. So, for example, the latest Galaxy S23 flagships will be updated until 2028. Unexpectedly, the same will happen with OnePlus 11 – this was reported by the company itself.
The One Plus 11 is the manufacturer’s first phone to be guaranteed four years of Android updates and five years of security updates. “Fast, smooth and really durable,” OnePlus founder and CEO Pete Lau commented on the news.
It is important to note that in this case we are talking about the global version of the model, the official premiere of which will take place next week.
