After the failure of the Perseverance mission on Mars, two samples were collected at once: NASA chooses a site for the third drilling

Just two days after successfully obtaining the first sample of the Martian rock, NASA reported receiving a second sample. The space agency named these first two samples Montdenier and Montagnac, and they have already revealed some details about the Martian planet. At the moment, the Perseverance rover is already looking for a place for a third soil sampling.

Perseverance is equipped with systems that allow it to drill thin holes and take rock samples from the surface of Mars, then place them in small titanium tubes and seal them. These tubes will be placed at different locations on Mars for a future joint NASA / ESA (European Space Agency) extraction mission.

In early August, it became known that the first attempt to collect soil on Mars ended in failure. Data sent back to Earth by NASA’s Perseverance rover after its first attempt to collect a rock sample on Mars showed that no rock was collected during the first drilling.

As a result, the first successful mission took place on September 6, and already on September 8, the rover assembled a second sample. The third collection of samples will take place in a region called South Seitah, which is about 200 meters from where the Perseverance rover is currently located.

In early October, NASA plans to put its rovers on hold for several weeks, as Mars and Earth will be located on opposite sides of the Sun. This is a safety measure that will help protect your ATVs. NASA says it will likely not move the rover to a third target and collect a sample until after this period of downtime.

Honor unveiled the new MagicBook 16 Pro gaming laptops in China today. The lineup is represented by two models that differ only in video cards: the base one uses the GeForce GTX 1650, and the top one received the GeForce RTX 3050.

Laptops are equipped with IPS screens with a diagonal of 16.1 inches with a frame rate of 144 Hz and full HD resolution. The screen covers 100% of the sRGB color space and covers 87.3% of the lid area. The amount of RAM is 16 GB, the amount of SSD is 512 GB.
