Affordable flagship Huawei Mate 40E will receive a new camera

Last October, Huawei launched a new flagship smartphone lineup that includes the Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro, Mate 40 Pro + and Mate 40 RS. A new low-cost model in the lineup called the Mate 40E is expected to arrive soon.

The well-known insider Digital Chat Station reported that the Mate 40E was originally planned to be equipped with a 50-megapixel Sony IMX700 image sensor, but due to a lack of components, it will be replaced with a 64-megapixel sensor. This is an Omnivision OV64A sensor with an optical format of 1 / 1.34 inches with a pixel size of 1 micron.

Huawei Mate 40E passed certification last month. The device will receive a 6.5-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 2376 x 1080 pixels and a single-chip system operating at a frequency of 2.86 GHz. Presumably, this is the SoC Kirin 990 5G, which Huawei still has enough reserves.

In terms of design, the Mate 40E will be a copy of the Mate 40, and its screen will support a 90Hz refresh rate.
