Adidas solar-powered wireless headphones can be recharged even from a night light

Adidas has introduced a new wireless headphones – Adidas RPT-02 Sol. They are co-created with Zound Industries.

As the name suggests, they can be recharged from the sun. The headphones are equipped with Powerfoyle solar cells from the Swedish company Exeger. As the manufacturer notes, without light, pure autonomy reaches 80 hours in music playback mode. However, the bright sun is not required, recharging is possible even with artificial light, including a night light in the bedroom.

In extreme cases, you can charge the headphones via USB Type-C. Headphones are equipped with 45 mm emitters, support Bluetooth 5.2, received protection against sweat and splashes (IPX4).

The Adidas RPT-02 Sol are priced at $229. Open sales start on August 23rd.

According to Bloomberg editor Mark Gurman, the Adaptive Transparency Mode feature that debuted on the AirPods Pro 2 wireless earbuds won’t be coming to the original AirPods Pro or AirPods Max.

The adaptive transparency mode setting, which appeared in the beta version of Apple iOS 16.1 Beta 3, according to Gurman, is a bug that will be fixed at the time the final version of the firmware is released.

Previously, AirPods Max and original AirPods Pro users noticed that Adaptive Transparency Mode replaced the original transparency mode setting after updating to iOS 16.1 Beta 3. Apple was believed to be extending this feature to older AirPods.

The adaptive transparency mode of the Apple AirPods Pro 2 wireless headphones is one of their unique features. Bloomberg writes that the original AirPods Pro and AirPods Max won’t have this capability, and Apple accidentally made the adaptive transparency mode setting visible to those devices that don’t actually support it.

With the new H2 chip in AirPods Pro 2, on-device processing technology reduces loud ambient noises such as passing car horns, construction noise, and so on.

The longer battery life of the second-generation AirPods Pro is partly due to the use of larger batteries in the earbuds themselves, as regulatory filings show.

Apple says that compared to the first-generation AirPods Pro, the second-generation model has an additional 1.5 hours of battery life with active noise cancellation turned on, that is, 6 hours of battery life. Listings in the 3C database show that the AirPods Pro 2 have a 49.7 mAh battery. This is 15% more than the 43.24 mAh capacity of the first generation AirPods Pro.

The second-generation MagSafe Charging Case for AirPods Pro has a 523 mAh battery, just 4 mAh more than the previous model. So it’s highly likely that the charging case’s longer battery life is actually mostly due to improvements in the earbuds. In addition to physically larger batteries, AirPods Pro’s second generation H2 chips and new detection sensors help extend battery life through greater power efficiency.

The adaptive transparency mode can significantly reduce the intensity of loud sounds such as whistles, sirens, or power tools, while still allowing users to hear ambient sound well. Apple claimed that it was the H2 chip that provided the adaptive transparency mode.

Apple iOS 16.1 also adds a battery percentage for more iPhone models such as the iPhone 11 and iPhone 13 mini.
