Acer Spin 7 is officially unveiled. This is the first laptop with Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 5G

Acer has unveiled its new product range with some interesting laptops. One of the most interesting is the Acer Spin 7, the first laptop to feature the latest SoC from Qualcomm. Let’s see what this device offers.

The Acer Spin 7 is an updated model of the popular laptop that no longer features an Intel processor compared to its predecessors. AMD was also not selected and instead was bet on the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 5G, which is based on the ARM architecture. Thus, the Acer Spin 7 is the first device on the market with this chip, as well as the first laptop in this manufacturer’s lineup to offer 5G connectivity.

The manufacturer promises 5G support for both mmWave and the 6 GHz band. Due to the type of system, we also expect very long battery life, not in hours but in days. The Spin 7 features a 14-inch 1080p touchscreen that can be rotated 360 degrees. You also have a Wacom stylus, which recognizes 4096 sensitivity levels.

The computer offers two USB-C and one USB-A. In the near future, more data will be provided on the characteristics and, above all, information on the price of the Acer Spin 7. However, already now we can say that this can be really interesting equipment, especially for people for whom battery life is critical. On the other hand, computers with the previous version of Snapdragon 8cx have not gained popularity, and there may be a similar situation. Moreover, offering new devices with Tiger Lake processors may be much more reasonable for most customers.
