A number of popular Samsung Galaxy models will not receive Android 14 update: “hit list”
No matter how good Samsung firmware support is, even popular models stop receiving updates over time. Soon, manufacturers will start massively updating smartphones and tablets to the latest Android 14 operating system. And Samsung will not be an exception. However, there are several popular Samsung models that will not be able to update and will remain “overboard”.
Android 13 will be the latest major OS update for the following Galaxy phones and tablets:
- Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite
- Samsung Galaxy S20
- Samsung Galaxy S20 / Galaxy S20+ / Galaxy S20 Ultra
- Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite
- Samsung Galaxy Note 20 / Galaxy Note 20 Ultra
- Samsung Galaxy Z Flip (LTE/5G)
- Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2
- Samsung Galaxy A22 (LTE/5G)
- Samsung Galaxy A32 (LTE/5G)
- Samsung Galaxy A51
- Samsung Galaxy A71
- Samsung Galaxy Tab A8
- Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite
- Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2020)
- Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 / Galaxy Tab S7+
These Samsung devices won’t get Android 14 and One UI 6.0, but they will continue to receive security patches for a while longer. If your device is running an OS version earlier than Android 13 and is not listed, it won’t get Android 14 either.
The Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra are likely to get the first chance to upgrade to Android 14 and One UI 6.0, followed by the older S-series flagships and the foldable Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5.

Microsoft is preparing a lightweight version of Windows 12 for very cheap PCs and laptops

Microsoft is indeed working on a “web-centric” version of the next generation of the Windows operating system, commonly known as Windows 12. This was reported by the thematic resource WindowsLatest, citing several sources close to Microsoft and its industry partners.
The cloud or web-based version of Windows 12 is similar in operating principles to the already well-known ChromeOS operating system from Google, which is used mainly on school and student PCs and laptops that are characterized by accessibility.
As WindowsLatest notes, the cloud version of Windows 12 is not intended to replace the traditional proprietary OS on desktop computers and could be the “true” answer to Chrome OS. This is Microsoft’s attempt to create a more modern, modular and lightweight version of Windows for low-cost educational devices.
Microsoft is already building a development team for the next generation of Windows. This is confirmed by job listings appearing online. It also notes that the “next generation of Windows” will appear in 2024.
As WindowsLatest learned, the Microsoft Edge browser and a new artificial intelligence system will be the center of the first web version of Windows 12.

Android Auto users complain about problems with GPS

Users of Google’s car platform began to complain about problems with the GPS signal after the release of the stable Android Auto 10.5 update.
According to some users, they have encountered problems with GPS while driving. Several users reported that the GPS signal suddenly disappeared for a few seconds and the navigator froze, but after a few moments it came to life and continued to work normally. This problem affects not only Google Maps, but also the Waze app.
Unfortunately, Google developers have not yet acknowledged the problems with GPS. However, you shouldn’t get too upset because new Android Auto updates come out every few weeks. If you have problems with GPS when using Android Auto, you can downgrade to an older version.

Google has removed the annoying “All bookmarks” bar in Chrome

Google has released a small update to its Chrome browser, which may please many users.
The fact is that some time ago the developers added the “All Bookmarks” checkbox to the end of the bookmarks bar, and the new element is firmly attached to the panel. Clicking “All Bookmarks” will simply prompt you to “Open sidebar to see all bookmarks.” This innovation annoyed many users and has now been removed.
The panel was freed from the plate with the update to Chrome 117.0.5938.132. In addition, the update contains 10 security fixes, including the exploit that was used in the attacks.
