The most autonomous of the iPhone 15 line was not the 15 Pro Max. The test showed that the new models are very good

Popular blogger Mrwhosetheboss with 16.4 million subscribers on YouTube decided to compare the autonomy of the new iPhones with previous generations.
The new line was presented in its entirety in the test, and from the old ones the iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPhone 14 and iPhone 13 Pro Max were taken.
At the initial stage, the iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 13 Pro Max took the lead, while the iPhone 15 Pro immediately became an outsider. The iPhone 15 Plus also performed well, lagging behind the leaders quite a bit.
Further, during the testing process, the worst model did not change, but the iPhone 15 Pro Max began to overtake its “grandfather”. At the same time, at what point did the leader change altogether – it unexpectedly became the iPhone 15 Plus.
When the iPhone 15 Plus reached the 50% charge mark, the iPhone 15 Pro Max had 44%, the iPhone 13 Pro Max remained at 41%, and the iPhone 15 Pro only retained 24%, that is, half the leader. At the same time, the outsider also changed – it became the iPhone 14 with 22%.
As a result, it was the iPhone 14 that was eliminated first with a result of 9 hours of screen operation. The iPhone 15 Pro was marginally better: 9 hours and 20 minutes. The iPhone 15 was the third to drop out, but it lasted almost 10 hours. The iPhone 14 Pro Max lasted another hour longer.
iPhone 13 Pro Max closed the top three with a result of 11 hours and 19 minutes, in second place was the iPhone 15 Pro Max with a result of 11 hours and 41 minutes, but the leader in the end was still the iPhone 15 Plus, which worked for an incredible 13 hours and 19 minutes.
Thus, the new generation as a whole has shown itself to be better in terms of autonomy than the previous one, and the result of the iPhone 15 Plus is absolutely amazing.

About 500 brands have left the smartphone market in six years

There are not many brands in the smartphone market, judging by numerous announcements, analyst data and other popular materials. However, in reality there are a huge number of them. Moreover, in the last few years alone, about 500 brands have left the market!
According to Counterpoint analysts, from 2017 to 2023, about half a thousand brands left the smartphone market. Moreover, this is not just a large number in itself. The fact is that in 2017, which was the peak year for this market, there were more than 700 brands present. That is, about two thirds were gone. By the end of this year, about 250 players will remain active.
There are many reasons for this situation. This includes improving the quality of smartphones themselves, longer replacement cycles, the transition to 5G, and the economic crisis.
Interestingly, the number of global brands has changed slightly over the past years: mostly local players are leaving the market.

The “titanium” iPhone 15 Pro was tested using a knife and a hammer. The vaunted titanium frame turned out to be a weak point

The TechRax YouTube channel released a crash test of the iPhone 15 Pro smartphone. To test the device for durability, the author used a knife and a hammer.
And it was the knife test that turned out to be the most difficult for the iPhone 15 Pro, and in fact a failure. The fact is that the newest titanium frame gets scratched very quickly even from light touches. And if you directly hit it with a knife, deep scratches remain. The author notes that the stainless steel frame in previous iPhones was much stronger.
The second test was with a hammer, and here the glass was hit hard. But, unlike the frame, everything here is predictable: the glass even withstood quite strong impacts. In the end, of course, it broke, but these were the blows with which nails are hammered in; not a single protective smartphone glass can withstand this.
What’s the result? The reviewer believes that the iPhone 15 Pro is an excellent smartphone, but you just don’t need to carry it in your pocket with your keys: it is advisable that the delicate titanium frame does not come into contact with sharp objects. Another option is to carry your smartphone in a case.
