A mid-range phone that’s going to be faster than many flagships. iQOO Neo7 powered by MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ tested on Geekbench
A few days ago, we wrote that iQOO is preparing a Neo7 phone that will be both inexpensive and powerful at the same time. Now the novelty has appeared in Geekbench, and the test results only confirm what was said earlier.
The iQOO Neo7, labeled as Vivo V2231A (iQOO is a sub-brand of Vivo), scored 1231 in the single-thread test and 4251 in the multi-thread test. This is the level of the current top models on the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 – despite the fact that the iQOO Neo7 should be much more affordable than them.
The hardware platform of the phone will be MediaTek Dimensity 9000+, and Android 13 will be the software basis. The amount of RAM is also known – it was 12 GB (although, perhaps, there will be 8 GB of RAM in the database).
A promising new product is also credited with a 5000 mAh battery with support for 120 W charging, a Full HD + screen with a frame rate of 120 Hz, an optical fingerprint scanner, NFC, an IR emitter and a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 sensor as part of the main module of the main camera. When the premiere of iQOO Neo7 will take place has not yet been reported.

Samsung smartphones from the Galaxy S24 line and devices from the iPhone 16 line will likely retain the same RAM options that current models currently have.
Analysts at Mizuho Securities, cited by insider Revegnus, say that the growing demand for AI should, in theory, contribute to the growth of RAM in smartphones. We previously reported that thanks to the emphasis on AI, manufacturers may begin to actively equip their smartphones with 16-24 GB of RAM.
However, a significant increase in memory prices, as well as the still missing scenarios for local AI that will run directly on smartphones, will lead to the fact that next year manufacturers will not actively increase the amount of memory. In particular, Samsung and Apple can leave everything as it is now.
This means that the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus will each receive 6 GB of RAM, and the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max will each receive 8 GB. Samsung’s new generation flagships will have 8 or 12 GB of RAM.
It is likely that other manufacturers will not rush to increase volumes, and this, in turn, may slow down the development of local AI on smartphones.
Today Samsung officially unveiled the budget smartphone Galaxy A15. The new product is offered in two versions: with LTE and 5G. Accordingly, the first is built on the MediaTek Helio G99 SoC, and the second is based on the MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ SoC. In terms of everything else, these versions have no differences.
The Galaxy A15 4G has two memory configurations: with 8 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of flash memory. The Galaxy A15 5G has one memory configuration: 8/1256 GB.
Samsung Galaxy A15 received a Super AMOLED screen with a diagonal of 6.5 inches, a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels, a frame rate of 90 Hz and a peak brightness of 800 cd/sq.m. The battery capacity is 5000 mAh and supports 25 W charging.
The camera is represented by sensors with a resolution of 50, 5 and 2 megapixels. The front camera is 13 megapixel. Dimensions and weight of the smartphone are 160.1 x 76.8 x 8.4 mm and 200 grams.
Galaxy A15 launched in Vietnam. The price of the LTE version is from $200, the 5G version is $260.
