A bit like iPhone 12 and Huawei: what the new Oppo A97 5G looks like
Insider Evan Blass has released high-quality images of the Oppo A97 5G mid-range smartphone, which will be unveiled soon. Judging by them, the designers were partly inspired by the iPhone 12 and 13. After all, the novelty has flat edges. And the main camera block is similar to that of Huawei smartphones – the famous two circles.
The novelty is credited with 48 and 2 megapixel image sensors. The front camera will receive an 8 MP sensor. Also, the smartphone will have a 6.56-inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 2412 pixels and a refresh rate of 90 Hz.
The smartphone will be based on the MediaTek Dimensity 810 processor with 8 cores up to 2.4 GHz. The SoC also includes a Mali-G57 MC2 graphics subsystem and a 5G modem.
8/12 GB of RAM, 256 GB of permanent memory, a side fingerprint scanner, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and a 5000 mAh battery with 33 W charging are promised. The smartphone will receive three color options: pink, blue and black. The price is not specified.
Previously, the company introduced the Oppo A57 4G smartphone, as well as the A57 5G. Versions differ in price and some characteristics.

The best camera phone on the way? Huawei Mate 50 launched in mass production, it will be presented on September 7 along with smart watches Huawei Watch GT4

Huawei has started mass production of the new Mate 50 flagship smartphones, according to a Chinese resource that cites supply chain sources. Huawei has traditionally been very strong in terms of camera capabilities, and it is possible that some Mate 50 Pro will top the DxOMark rankings in the future. .
In general, four models are expected in the series: Mate 50e, Mate 50, Mate 50 Pro and Mate 50 RS. They will receive curved screens from local (Chinese) manufacturers and the recently introduced HarmonyOS 3.0. The younger model is credited with SoC Snapdragon 778G, all the rest – Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 without 5G support. However, some sources also talk about the use of Snapdragon 888 (also in the version with an LTE modem), so not everything is clear here yet.
The premiere of Huawei Mate 50 in China is expected on September 7, on the same day the company may introduce the Watch GT4 smart watch. There are no special details about this device: it is only reported that the watch will receive a larger screen than the current model, improved optical sensors and, of course, HarmonyOS 3.0.

Will there be more 200 megapixel cameras in smartphones? OmniVision OVB0A sensor introduced

There may be more smartphones with 200-megapixel sensors in the near future, and we are probably talking not only about expensive devices. OmniVision has introduced its second sensor of this class.
The OVB0A sensor has an optical format of 1/1.395″ or 1/1.4″ for simplicity. That is, it is quite large, but smaller than the same Samsung ISOCELL HP1, while it is exactly the same as ISOCELL HP3. The pixel size is 0.56 µm.
The sensor supports 16-cell binning, so that photos are obtained with a resolution of 12.5 megapixels. Video can be shot in 4K at 120 fps, 8K at 30 fps is also supported. The sensor should appear in smartphones in the fourth quarter.
OVB0A is OmniVision’s second 200MP sensor. The first was OVB0B in a larger optical format. It was introduced back in January, but in the end it did not appear in any smartphone. So, if OVB0A does not repeat the fate of the firstborn, then it will just become the first available on the market.

Autonomy at the level of iPhone 13 Pro Max for only 250 euros. DxOMark tested Honor X7

DxOMark specialists got to the Honor X7 smartphone, but not to evaluate the camera, but to test the power subsystem.
Recall that the smartphone is equipped with a standard battery today with a capacity of 5000 mAh and not the most outstanding charging power of 22.5 watts.
At the same time, thanks to the screen with a low resolution and SoC Snapdragon 680, the device showed a very decent autonomy, having lasted 2 days and 17 hours in the source tests. For comparison, the iPhone 13 Pro Max showed a result of 2 days and 20 hours, that is, with a price difference of about four times, the autonomy of smartphones is very close.
The charging parameters are also close. From 0 to 80%, the smartphone charges in 1 hour and 5 minutes, and it takes 2 hours and 31 minutes to fully charge. The flagship of Apple is 1 hour 1 minute and 2 hours 11 minutes, respectively. True, the iPhone 13 Pro Max was eventually rated at 89 points, and the Honor smartphone received only 74 points, which puts it in 40th place in the overall ranking. The reason is that in a number of subtests, the Apple device is a cut above. For example, when playing music, it lasted almost 62 hours versus less than 29 hours for the Honor X7. But in games, the latter is better: 9 hours and 44 minutes versus 8 hours and 52 minutes.
