The new monoblock Apple iMac 24 based on SoC M1, presented yesterday, has already been registered on the official website, thanks to which we have the opportunity to find out details about its characteristics.

So, the new iMac is available in several configurations with a number of differences. Firstly, the SoC M1 can be either a seven-core GPU or an eight-core one.

Secondly, an SSD can have a volume of 256 GB to 2 TB, while in the base two standard versions of the three have only 256 GB. RAM can be either 8 or 16 GB. Given the similar dimensions of the newer MacBooks, this is probably a limitation of the M1. It’s also worth noting that all three standard versions of the new iMac only have 8GB of RAM.

The configurator on the Apple website is not working yet, so you cannot see the maximum cost. Standard versions cost $ 1,300, $ 1,500 or $ 1,700.

In the home market, the novelty costs about $64. One of its distinguishing features is the presence of a microphone and speaker, so when paired with a smartphone, you can make and receive calls directly from the watch. Moreover, the list of software includes a dialer, so you can not use your smartphone to make a call at all.

Apple has a brand new product almost ready The company

It looks like Apple’s mixed reality headset is indeed in its final stages of development.

Apple has a brand new product almost ready. The company first showed a mixed reality headset to the board of directors

The source claims that last week Apple demonstrated the device to the Board of Directors for the first time.

Initially, Apple allegedly planned to announce at WWDC 2022, but technical problems, including overheating, forced the company to change plans. At the same time, Apple recently accelerated the development of the RealityOS operating system, on the basis of which the headset will work.

Apple is now expected to introduce the device either in the fall along with the iPhone 14 or as early as early 2023. Given that the company’s smartwatches were introduced in 2014 and AirPods were shown in 2016, this will be Apple’s first brand new product in years.

There are not so many details about the device on the Web, and even those sometimes vary greatly. For example, the headset is credited with 15 cameras required for gesture tracking, micro-OLED screens, a gaze tracking system, and a price in excess of $2,000.

Apple took over half of the North American smartphone market

Canalys analysts report that shipments of smartphones in North America in the first quarter increased by 3.7%, to 39 million units.

The undisputed leader is Apple, which increased sales by 19%, taking 51% of the market with 19.9 million smartphones sold. Samsung increased sales by only 1%, to 10.5 million, taking 27% of the market. Motorola closes the top three with a growth of 56%, a share of 10% and 4 million smartphones sold.

Fourth place goes to TCL, which sells Alcatel-branded smartphones. The company’s sales fell 21% to 1.4 million smartphones. And, apparently, in the near future it will shift to fifth place, as Google is growing at an incredible pace.

The search giant’s smartphone sales are up 380% (or more, but more on that below)! As a result, the company now occupies 3% of the market, having sold 1.2 million smartphones in the quarter. Still, despite a number of data, sales of the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro are clearly very good by the standards of Google itself.

All other brands in North America account for only 15% of the market, and sales of all these companies in total collapsed by 64%, to 2.1 million units.

Separately, it is worth noting that in some points the data in the table looks strange. In particular, Google’s growth from 0.2 million to 1.2 million smartphones is clearly over 380%.
