8″ 120Hz AMOLED screen, latest generation 50MP Samsung sensor with OIS, 66W and Android 12. Detailed specs and official image of Vivo X Fold
A flyer has been published on the Weibo social network showing the design and specifications of the upcoming flagship Vivo X Fold. The official premiere of the novelty, we recall, will take place on April 11.
Like its closest competitors in the form of Huawei Mate X2, Samsung Galaxy Fold3 and Oppo Find N, there are two displays. Outdoor curved with latest generation Samsung E5 AMOLED panel, 6.53-inch, FHD+ resolution and 120Hz frame rate. The internal flexible screen is even more interesting. This is the same Samsung E5 AMOLED panel, but already produced using LTPO 3.0 technology. Its diagonal is 8 inches, the resolution is 2K, the frame rate is the same 120 Hz.
The Vivo X Fold was based on SoC Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. RAM is LPDDR5, flash memory is UFS 3.1. The battery capacity of the smartphone will be 4600 mAh. Charging – 66W wired or 50W wireless. The OS, of course, will be Android 12. Also in the Wi-Fi 6 and NFC configuration.
The key feature (and difference from competitors) is in the Vivo X Fold camera. The main module is equipped with a modern 50-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL GN5 sensor. There will also be a module with a 48-megapixel sensor and an ultra-wide-angle lens, a module with a 12-megapixel sensor and a portrait lens (apparently with a 50mm EGF), and another module with a telephoto lens and a 60-megapixel sensor.
A trusted insider, known in China and around the world under the nickname Digital Chat Station, called Vivo X Fold one of the best smartphones in the world with a flexible screen. And, judging by the list of characteristics, it could very well be.

Pebble founder wants to release a compact Android smartphone with a good camera and quality materials

It is quite possible that a compact smartphone from the founder of Pebble will appear on the market in the foreseeable future.
Eric Migicovsky, who founded the acclaimed Pebble, is literally now gathering a new team to release a compact smartphone with Andorid. In fact, at the moment there is no company that will eventually be created for these purposes. Now the Small Android Phone team is only discussing options, but even now the participants are trying to decide on the characteristics.
The team now includes several former Pebble employees, including the founder, GoPro designer, MongoBD manager, and other enthusiasts. Interestingly, it all started, in fact, simply with the cry of Migikowski on the Web for someone to make a good compact smartphone. But, as we know, even the iPhone mini sold very mediocrely.
However, perhaps they were too small. The Small Android Phone team has not yet finalized the dimensions, but has repeatedly mentioned, firstly, that the screen should be less than 6.1 inches diagonally, and secondly, the participants often mentioned ZenFone 9 with a 5-screen diagonal as a reference point. 9 inches.
The team’s designer even already has a number of sketches, although it’s hard to say what the smartphone will be like in the end. But the team definitely focuses on good photo opportunities as well. In addition, apparently, the emphasis will be placed on the materials of the case, along with the tactile sensations of users.
In terms of performance, the smartphone will definitely be very powerful, but not necessarily one of the best. The team is currently looking at two platforms: the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 and a mid-range Qualcomm chip that has yet to be released. Although, perhaps, this meant the new SoC Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 2, which was just announced the other day, but has not yet hit the market. By the way, such a selection of platforms hints that the smartphone will not be released sometime in a few years, but relatively soon. Perhaps in a year and a half.
There is a guideline for the price: about $ 850.

Employees of Apple and Twitter are driven to the offices. You can get fired for working from home

Zoe Schiffer, who was recently managing editor of Twitter and now holds the same position at Platformer, said that Apple strictly monitors how employees visit offices.
Apple tracks employee attendance (using electronic badge records) and alerts employees if they don’t show up to the office at least 3 times a week.
Zoe Schiffer
Some at Apple, according to Schiffer, say that non-compliance could lead to dismissal, but she added that this does not seem like company policy.
In addition, she revealed that her former boss, Elon Musk, sent an email to Twitter employees at 2:30 a.m. stating that “office visits are no longer optional.” The billionaire noticed that the San Francisco office was half empty when he last visited.
