64GB of native memory for the new Intel processor. The company claims the 40-core Xeon will be able to bypass the 64-core AMD Epyc
Intel today revealed details about the upcoming Sapphire Rapids server processors. These CPUs will come in two flavors, one of which will contain its own HBM2e memory.
Intel has confirmed early leaks that the processor will have up to 64GB of such memory. More specifically, four 16 GB stacks. The frequency and bandwidth are not yet known, but it is assumed that we are talking about Micron memory, which means that, depending on the memory version, the bandwidth will lie in the range of 1.4-1.64 TB / s. Earlier it was also reported that Intel will supply such CPUs only to select customers.
The new Intel CPUs will compete with the Milan-X generation Epyc processors with additional L3 cache. But Intel itself claims that even a 40-core Xeon of the new generation is capable of almost twice the 64-core Epyc 7763 in some tasks.

Up to 8 XE cores and 6 GB of memory: the first information about the Intel Arc Pro A50/A40 graphics cards appeared

The database of the SiSoftware Sandra test package has fresh data on the upcoming Arc A40 Pro and Arc A50 Pro graphics cards. These are graphics accelerators for workstations that are designed for engineering tasks.
The A50 Pro has a full ACM-G11 GPU with 8 Xe cores (128 execution units/1024 FP32 cores), while the A40 Pro is likely to get a stripped-down version of the chip. The clock frequency is 2.45 GHz.
Both cards have 6 GB GDDR6 memory, indicating a 96-bit memory bus. In this regard, both models are similar to the Arc A380 mobile card, which has almost the same configuration.
Thus, the company continues to prepare its entry-level products. When high-performance gaming and professional solutions based on the ACM-G10 GPU will appear, it is not reported. It is also not yet clear whether the Arc A40 Pro and Arc A50 Pro cards will be available in retail or whether they will appear only as part of workstations.
Earlier, Intel introduced its first gaming graphics card for $150.

Named the likely date of the announcement of the mobile processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2

Qualcomm has updated its 2022 product launch roadmap. And there, among other things, they indicated the likely date for the announcement of the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. It is expected to be shown on the first day of the Snapdragon Summit event, which will be held from November 14 to 17.
Qualcomm also announced the Snapdragon X70 5G modem that will be included with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. It is credited with download speeds of up to 10 Gbps, as well as new advanced features for working in fifth-generation networks.
The processor (SM8550) will be manufactured using TSMC’s 4nm process. It will use a three-cluster layout. The composition is expected to include one super-powerful Cortex X3 core, two productive Cortex-A720 and A710, as well as three energy-efficient Cortex-A510. An Adreno740 graphics accelerator is also expected.
It is assumed that the first smartphone based on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor will be Xiaomi 13, its presentation is expected before the end of 2022.

Are the recommended prices for modern video cards too high? Calculated how adapters are priced based on performance

Current generation video cards have been heavily overpriced almost all the time due to scarcity and demand from miners. Now the prices are getting back to normal, but how normal are the prices that are recommended? The source decided to evaluate how fair these prices are in terms of performance.
The source took the GeForce RTX 3070 as a conditional standard, which, according to our colleagues, is fairly priced if we take 4K resolution.
As you can see, there is an even more profitable graphics card – GeForce RTX 3060 Ti. That is, it offers more than its price of $400. As for the rest of Nvidia’s cards, most of them have not gone far from the standard, offering 90-94% price match. But all high cards are heavily overvalued. The same GeForce RTX 3090 Ti, according to such calculations, should cost only $ 814, and not $ 2,000 at all.
As far as AMD cards are concerned, only the Radeon RX 6800 and 6800 XT can be distinguished here, which are very close to 100%. Also, the Radeon RX 6700 XT has a rate of 92%. The rest of the cards are significantly more overpriced, although no model falls short of the RTX 3090 Ti in this indicator, simply because even the RX 6950 XT is almost half the price.
It is worth mentioning separately that the source only evaluated performance in games, so all calculations are rather arbitrary. They do not take into account the non-gaming capabilities of video cards, the same huge amount of memory in top GeForces, the complexity of GPU and PCB production, and so on.
