According to 9to5Mac, citing analyst Jeff Pu, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will feature a periscope camera with 5x optical zoom.

Analyst Jeff Pu indicated that the Cupertino-based company is now in talks with Lante Optics, a company that is expected to become the main lens supplier for iPhone periscope cameras next year. Apple has reportedly already received lens samples from the firm, with a final decision due by May 2022.

If Apple decides that the components meet its quality standards, it will use them in the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. In the event that the companies close the deal on these components, Lante Optics will receive an order for more than 100 million modules. Obviously, this will have a positive impact on Lante Optics’ revenues.

Earlier, another analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also said that the company is considering including a periscope camera in the 2023 iPhone. After Jeff Pu’s post, the likelihood of Apple improving the iPhone’s scaling capabilities in 2023 becomes even greater.

It is worth noting that Samsung and Huawei have already implemented such technology in their smartphones, which can provide zoom levels from optical 10x to combined 100x zoom.

Apple has released a new video called Doin’ Laps, in which a guy on a bike circles his neighborhood (hence the name of the video), while recording himself on an iPhone 13 camera.

The commercial starts in the morning, the guy gets on the bike and attaches the iPhone 13 to the handlebars. After that, he passes many times in front of the houses of his neighbors. As a result, the sun begins to set, and when it gets completely dark, an inscription appears stating that now the iPhone works “sooooo much longer without recharging.” The video ends with a familiar phrase: “Relax, it’s an iPhone.”

In 2014, Samsung made fun of the iPhone’s curtailed battery life in a TV ad called The Wall Huggers. The ad showed that iPhone users can always be found near power outlets at airports.

Apple started improving battery life with the release of the iPhone 11 in 2019, but it wasn’t until the release of the iPhone 13 last year that things really got better.
