56-core Intel Xeon W9-3495X sets new world record in Cinebench R23, well ahead of overclocked Ryzen Threadripper Pro 5995WX
The 56-core Xeon W9-3495X may not be the fastest desktop processor on the market, according to multiple benchmarks, but it did set a new Cinebench R23 record.
The OGS overclocking team managed to get such a CPU to run at 5.4 GHz for all cores. Of course using liquid nitrogen. At the same time, it is worth recalling that out of the box the CPU operates at frequencies only up to 4.8 GHz, and this is the frequency for one or two cores.
Such overclocking allowed the processor to score 132,484 points from the benchmark, which is a new record. Moreover, the previous record was beaten by a large margin: Ryzen Threadripper Pro 5995WX scored 121,215 points at the time.
Unfortunately, there is no data on the power consumption of the Intel flagship during this overclocking.

Screen replacement up to $760, motherboard replacement up to $880. Named the cost of spare parts for Huawei P60, P60 Pro and Mate X3

Yesterday, Huawei officially unveiled the flagships P60, P60 Pro, P60 Art and Mate X3, and today a price list for repair parts for these models has appeared. Prices are unlikely to surprise, unless we are talking about replacing key components.
When it comes to the screen, the Mate X3’s internal display will cost the most to replace, with the screen alone costing $760, not to mention labor fees. Screens for the P60, P60 Pro, and P60 Art are cheaper at $335, $365, and $395, respectively. It is noteworthy that the displays of these models are exactly the same.
The price of the motherboard for Huawei P60 is $445, for Huawei P60 Pro it is already $630, and for Huawei P60 Art it is even $880. Even for the Mate X3, the motherboard is cheaper at $760.
The cost of other components is lower: the back cover is $55-85, the telephoto module is $85-120, the USB-C port is up to $22.

But Intel only managed to release competitors for the Threadripper 5000. Asus confirms that the Ryzen Threadripper 7000 will be released in the second half of the year

AMD is indeed going to launch Ryzen Threadripper 7000 processors in the second half of this year. Previously, these were just rumors and leaks, and now this was announced by an Asus representative.
Interestingly, he mentioned this in a video demonstrating the work of the Intel Sapphire Rapids WS platform, the processors of which are currently competing with the Threadripper 5000, but soon they will have to compete with the Threadripper 7000.
Threadripper 7000 will switch to a new socket and a new Zen 4 architecture. This will bring them support for DDR5 memory, probably PCIe 5.0 interface. In addition, the top-end Threadripper 7000s are expected to be 96-core, just like their sister Epyc Genoa.

JetStream are back. Palit GeForce RTX 4080 and 4070 Ti JetStream graphics cards unveiled – and they have one notable difference from the competition

Palit returns to the production of JetStream video cards. More than two years after the release of the GeForce RTX 3070 JetStream, the company introduced the GeForce RTX 4080 and 4070 Ti JetStream. These models differ from analogues in the absence of RGB backlighting.
At one time, manufacturers of various hardware were so carried away by the introduction of backlighting into everything that is possible that now its absence is already perceived as a “trick”. On the other hand, the frequencies here are completely standard, and from this point of view, the lack of backlight is more of a savings factor.
Video cards look almost the same – and rather modestly. However, they are long – 329 mm (after all, there are three fans) and rather thick (they take up 3.1 slots). It is possible that dual-fan models will also appear in the JetStream series, but already based on the GeForce RTX 4070 or GeForce RTX 4060. The cost of new products has not yet been announced.
