5100mAh, 66W, 100x zoom, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, 6.81″ OLED screen, IP68. Honor Magic5 and Magic5 Pro introduced
Last year, Honor Magic4 Ulimate sensationally topped the DxOMark camera phone rating, and even now, after the release of the new generation of flagships, it ranks 4th in the DxOMark rating. And who is in first place? And the Honor Magic5 Pro presented today became the best camera phone in the world!
We will tell you in detail about the tests and conclusions of DxOMark in a separate article, and in this one – the characteristics and live photos of Magic5 and Magic5 Pro directly from Barcelona.
Honor Magic5 Pro is built on SoC Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, equipped with 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512 GB of UFS 4.0 flash memory. The software platform is MagicUI 7.1 based on Android 13.
The phone received a 6.81-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2848 x 1312 pixels. The frame rate is 120 Hz, the peak brightness when displaying HDR content reaches 1800 cd / sq.m. – almost twice as much as Magic4 Pro. The PWM control frequency is 2160 Hz, which is more than Samsung phones with the latest generation AMOLED panel E6 (1920 Hz).
The battery capacity of the Honor Magic5 Pro is larger than that of the Galaxy S23 Ultra – it is 5100 mAh. Supports 66W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The kit includes a cable and a power supply.
Honor says the Magic5 phones are the first to use a “standalone antenna architecture” for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. This significantly improved the reception of the Wi-Fi 6 signal and reduced delays in data transmission over a wireless network by 30%. Magic5 Pro also has IP68 protection.
The highlight of the Magic5 Pro is the camera. The main module uses a 50-megapixel 1/1.12″ optical format sensor and a fast F/1.6 lens, a step up from the Magic4 Pro’s 1/1.56″ F/1.8 sensor and lens. ). The main module also has an OIS system.
The second module is also a 50-megapixel one, with an ultra wide-angle lens with a 122° field of view and an aperture of F / 2.0.
The third module, the periscope, has become much better. Instead of a 64-megapixel OmniVision sensor, a sub-flagship 50-megapixel Sony IMX858 is used here. The 90mm lens has become faster (the aperture is F / 3.0 versus F / 3.5 for its predecessor), there is optical image stabilization. The direct optical zoom is 3.5x, the maximum is 100x. And with the help of this module, you can take macro shots with a magnification of 30x.
Additional camera modules include a 3D ToF system and a multispectral sensor that detects color temperature. The phone allows you to record HDR10 + 4K 60 fps video.
The front camera system has two modules – with a 12-megapixel sensor with an F / 2.4 lens (without autofocus) and 3D ToF. Due to this, the camera is used to unlock the face (but there is also a regular under-screen fingerprint scanner).
The usual Honor Magic5 is simpler than the Pro version, and a little more compact – there is an OLED screen with a diagonal of 6.73 inches. The maximum brightness is slightly less than the Pro version – 1600 cd / sq.m.
It’s easier here and the camera. The main sensor is 54-megapixel with an optical format of 1 / 1.49 inches. There is also a 50-megapixel sensor working in conjunction with an ultra-wide-angle lens, and a module that provides 50x zoom – with a 32-megapixel sensor and a lens with an aperture of f / 2.4. Optical stabilization is only available for the telephoto lens.
Honor Magic5 is also based on Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, but the memory sizes are different here: 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of flash memory. The battery capacity is still the same 5100 mAh, and 66W wired charging is supported, but there is no support for wireless charging.
Honor Magic5 and Magic5 Pro will go on sale in the second quarter of this year. Prices will be announced later.

Electric Cars
This is the successor to the Hyundai ix35. Presented brutal crossover Hyundai Mufasa

Hyundai introduced the new Hyundai Mufasa crossover, which is positioned as a replacement for the Hyundai ix35 model. So far, this is a concept, but the serial production version can be seen during the Shanghai Motor Show on April 18, and sales will begin in early July.
The car has high ground clearance, a pronounced off-road body kit and matching tires, as well as running boards and reinforced bumpers. Above is an unusual trunk. In the area of the rear left pillar is a strange element, the purpose of which is still unclear.
At the rear, Hyundai designers have created brake lights in the shape of an oval, inside which is the letter logo of the Hyundai brand. A duplicate brake light is located on the rear spoiler.
Body dimensions are 4475 x 1850 x 1665 mm, wheelbase is 2680 mm. Salon Hyundai Mufasa will be minimalistic. There are practically no physical buttons on the front panel, and all control is placed on the touch screen. The driver also has access to a digital dashboard.
The production car will be equipped with a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated G4NJ engine with a maximum output of 161 hp. A hybrid version will also be available.

Headphones Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2+ will measure the owner’s temperature and pulse

Huawei introduced the FreeBuds Pro 2+ wireless headphones. According to her, these are the world’s first headphones with the function of measuring the pulse and body temperature of its owner. The novelty is equipped with a dual-mode heart rate sensor and supports the “industry’s first 3D intelligent temperature measurement algorithm.” Data on the user’s heart rate and body temperature in real time is sent to his smartphone, and in case of suboptimal performance, the owner of the headphones will receive a notification.
As for the direct duties of Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2+, sound reproduction, the headphones received 11 mm drivers, support for “deep bass” (low frequencies reach 14 Hz) and active noise reduction: a three-microphone system allows you to block extraneous noise up to 47 dB. The headphones also support Huawei L2HC and LDACTM codecs and provide high-definition spatial sound transmission. Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2+ has several sound playback modes, for example, as in a concert hall or a cinema, and a six-axis position sensor is responsible for tracking the movements of the user’s head.
Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2+ wireless headphones are made in white with a golden rim. They will go on sale in the Chinese market on April 7 this year at a price of 1,499 yuan (about $219).

Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will get brand new and fully 64-bit cores

According to recent data, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 single-chip system can receive a 1 + 2 + 3 + 2 format configuration.
According to insider Kuba Wojciechowski, we are waiting for one Hunter ELP super-core, which Qualcomm itself will call Kryo Gold Plus, two Hunter cores (Titanium), three Hunter cores (Gold) and two Hayes (Silver). The platform itself is codenamed Lanai or Pineapple.
If we compare this with early information, then we are probably talking about Cortex-X4, Cortex-A715, Cortex-A710 and Cortex-A510 / 515. However, the insider says that the Hunter and Hayes cores, that is, all cores, will be completely new solutions, that is, apparently, not Cortex-A715 and the others listed above. The new cores will not support 32-bit computing, which means that all 2024 flagships that will receive Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will be fully 64-bit following the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro.
In addition, the new platform will receive an Adreno 750 GPU with a frequency of 770 MHz, although this is not the final value.
Wojciechowski was previously the first to point out that Xiaomi will switch to using JLQ platforms. In addition, he was the first to discover information about the modified configuration of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2
