5000mAh, 120W, 108MP with OIS, Dimensity 9000 and Samsung AMOLED 2K screen for $470. Redmi K50 Pro unveiled
Redmi has already introduced the Redmi Book Pro 15 2022 laptop and the huge Redmi Max 100 TV, and the third new product from the company today is the flagship smartphone Redmi K50 Pro. It is this model that many fans of the brand have been waiting for a long time (more than 600,000 pre-orders have already been submitted for purchase), and today it was released.
It must be said right away that Redmi made a unique price offer: the K50 Pro turned out to be a very affordable smartphone for its parameters. The base version, which has 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of flash memory, is priced at the equivalent of $470 in China. Considering that the most affordable Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 flagships cost about $550, and the Dimensity 9000 is faster than the top Qualcomm SoC, the Redmi K50 Pro can be called a very inexpensive flagship. True, outside of China, the device will be clearly more expensive.
The cost of other versions is as follows: 8/256 GB – $520, 12/256 GB – $570, 12/512 GB – $630. Starting today, pre-orders are being accepted in China, real sales will start on March 22. But there is no doubt that with the huge excitement that this model caused even before its official premiere, all the first batches of Redmi K50 Pro will be instantly sold out.
The smartphone received a flat screen Samsung AMOLED 4E with a diagonal of 6.67 inches, a resolution of 3200 x 1440 pixels (like the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra) and a frame rate of 120 Hz. The company calls this display the most expensive ever used in Redmi smartphones. The screen is equipped with a color temperature sensor, supports Dolby Vision HDR technology and is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus tempered glass.
Despite the fact that Dimensity 9000 does not get as hot as Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, the developers have provided a large cooling system with a 3950 mm vapor chamber2. In a real gaming test with Genshin Impact for an hour at 59 fps and a room temperature of 25°C, the smartphone reached 46°C at its hottest spot. This is a good result. Especially considering that Redmi K50 Pro is not presented as a gaming model.
Redmi K50 Pro is equipped with a 5000 mAh battery and a proprietary P1 chip like Xiaomi 12 Pro. The smartphone supports 120W charging, and it takes only 19 minutes to fully charge the battery.
The main sensor of the main camera is Samsung ISOCELL HM2 with a resolution of 108 megapixels. The module with it is equipped with an optical stabilization system. There is also a module with an 8-megapixel sensor and an ultra-wide-angle lens with a viewing angle of 119 °, and a third module with a 2-megapixel sensor is designed for macro photography.
The front camera of the model is with a 20-megapixel Sony IMX596 sensor. Also in the configuration of the smartphone are Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3 and NFC 3.0 modules, stereo speakers, a side fingerprint scanner. Despite the use of a 5000 mAh battery, the smartphone turned out to be quite thin – the body thickness is 8.48 mm.

Neither in Blender nor in V-Ray can the new Core i9-14900K outperform the “old” Ryzen 9 7950X

The results of testing the Core i9-14900K processor in tasks that can actually load modern multi-core processors have appeared on the Internet.
In Blender, the new product scores almost 560 points, which is 6% more than the Core i9-13900KS. This is good considering that these are technically identical CPUs. The new product is already 8% ahead of its direct predecessor, the Core i9-13900K. However, the Ryzen 9 7950X is still a little faster.
In V-Ray, the new Intel flagship showed a result of 27,790 points, ahead of the Core i9-13900KS by 5% and its predecessor by 8%. But here again the AMD flagship is ahead.
Of course, it was clear in advance that Raptor Lake Refresh would only be a very minor update (except for the Core i7, which will get more cores), but now we can verify this not only through the results from Geekbench.

Is an entire era of Samsung coming to an end? In the latest renders, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is almost indistinguishable from the S23 Ultra, but the screen of the new product will apparently be flat

The Samsung Galaxy S24, as we have already seen today, will be practically no different in appearance from the Galaxy S23. Now it has become clear that the same applies to the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
The same insider Steve Hemmerstoffer, known under the pseudonym Onleaks, also shared renderings of the older model of Samsung’s new flagship line. And here, too, it is very difficult to detect any differences.
In fact, they will be, but they will either not affect the appearance at all, or very slightly. For example, a titanium frame does not change the appearance of the smartphone. But you can see that the side edges will become even less curved than in the current generation, although they will not be completely flat.
In addition, judging by the images, the Galaxy S24 Ultra will have a flat screen. The glass itself is curved very slightly, but the screen looks like it will be completely flat. If so, then the Galaxy S24 Ultra will end the era of Samsung flagships and curved screens, which began with the Galaxy S6 Edge in 2015.
