4K @ 120fps: Updated but still unofficial Nikon Z9 camera specs published

The source has published updated specifications for the Nikon Z9 camera, focusing on the image sensor. As you know, announcing the development in March this year, Nikon did not go into details, limiting itself to promising to use in the flagship mirrorless camera “a newly developed multi-layer high-resolution CMOS sensor.” Later, unofficial information appeared that the Japanese manufacturer tested three sensors: with a resolution of 45–46 megapixels, 50 megapixels and 60 megapixels. Then the choice in a serial product in favor of the latter was named the most probable.

However, according to new information, the Z9 uses a 45 megapixel sensor. It will allow you to shoot in bursts at a speed of 30 fps. Pictures can be saved in RAW format in 16-bit representation. The camera will allow you to shoot 8K video at 30 fps and 4K video at 30, 60 and even 120 fps.

Externally, the Z9 will resemble the flagship of the DSLR line, the Nikon D6, as the vertical battery grip will be built into the body, making it equally convenient to shoot in landscape and portrait orientations of the frame. The new EXPEED image processor designed for the camera is optimized for performance to capture 8K video and deliver fast, accurate autofocus, including tracking, with object detection and recognition in the frame.

The camera is credited with a sensitivity range of ISO 64 – 25600, expandable two stops up, two slots for XQD / CFX Type B memory cards, an electronic viewfinder without dimming, a resolution of 5.76 or 9 million points with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The equipment will also include a network port, USB-C, Wi-Fi, GPS and a built-in transmitter for flash control. The camera will be powered by Nikon’s new EN-EL18x battery. Its announcement is expected in November or December this year. The approximate price of the camera is $ 6,000-7,000.
