449 hp, range 1315 km, three screens with a diagonal of 15.7 inches, 21 speakers and luxury equipment. Presented crossover Li Auto L7
Today in China, the official premiere of a new car from Li Auto, the L7 crossover, took place. This is the manufacturer’s first five-seat model, but in terms of equipment it does not lag behind the flagship Li Auto L9, which was recognized as the best Chinese car last year.
The Li Auto L7 will be offered in China in three versions – Air, Pro and Max, with prices ranging from $47,210 to $55,960. Given the size and equipment, it is inexpensive.
The design of Li Auto L7 is made in the spirit of the older model L9, in principle, cars can even be easily confused. For cars, 20- and 21-inch wheels are available, four standard colors: white, silver, gray and black. But, as with the Samsung Galaxy S23 or Xiaomi 13, there are special colors. There are three of them: blue, green and red. The dimensions of the car are 5050 x 1995 x 1750 mm, the wheelbase is 3005 mm. The Li Auto L7 is larger than the Toyota Land Cruiser 300.
Inside Li Auto L7 – the realm of screens. There are five of them in total: a projection one, a display as part of a digital instrument panel, as well as three 15.7-inch screens – two on the front panel (in the center and in front of the passenger) and one fixed under the ceiling for entertaining rear passengers.
The audio system is a match – 7.3.4 format (there are 21 speakers in total) with Dolby Atmos support. The Air and Pro versions have one Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 SoC each, while the Max version has two such platforms at once.
The creators focus on the comfort of the rear passengers – at their disposal are electric seats and Nappa leather, with heating, ventilation and a lumbar massager (the front seats have everything the same). If you activate the Queen Seat mode, the rear seats will move back so that the distance to the front will be more than a meter!
Already in the base, Li Auto L7 has a panoramic roof, atmospheric lighting, a two-layer athermal windshield, and three-zone climate control. Air suspension is optionally available.
The Li Auto L7 is a plug-in hybrid in which a 1.5-liter tubular engine charges a 42.8 kWh traction battery, which in turn powers the front and rear electric motors with a total output of 449 hp. The power reserve of a fully charged and charged crossover is 1315 km (according to the CLTC method), the mileage on pure electricity is up to 210 km. Up to 100 km / h Li Auto L7 accelerates in 5.3 seconds.

Geely introduced a new car brand designed to carry passengers

Geely has announced the launch of a new Cao Cao Automobile brand. The first car will be presented on March 29, it is known that it will be called Cao Cao 60.
Geely already operates its Cao Cao Mobility-branded taxi division, which competes with Didi (China’s alternative to Uber), has 150 million users and is aiming for an IPO in 2023.
The new automotive brand Geely will focus on the production of vehicles designed to carry passengers. Previously, Cao Cao Mobility used electric vehicles from Ruilan Auto and the Geely Geometry brand. It was mainly a Geometry A sedan with a range of 600 km and a Ruilan Maple 80V minivan (by Ruilan Auto) supporting battery swap. The agreement between Ruilan and Cao Cao was signed in April 2022. Ruilan Auto is a joint venture between Lifan and Geely. It is an automaker currently focusing on electric vehicles with replaceable batteries.
In September last year, it was reported that Cao Cao Mobility and Geely’s self-driving driving division began a collaboration on a robotic taxi project to build a self-driving platform.
Geely Holding owns many brands, including Lotus, Volvo, Zeekr, Lynk&Co and many more. A month ago, Geely announced another series called Galaxy, which will release seven new models in the next two years.

The latest crossover Toyota Crown Sport 2023 was filmed for the first time on public roads

Crossover Toyota Crown Sport noticed on public roads in Japan before the official announcement. The photos were published by the Japanese edition of BestCarWeb.
The Toyota Crown Sport is expected to be available exclusively in hybrid versions and only with all-wheel drive. At the moment, the car is undergoing sea trials, which should be presented this year.
Toyota Crown Sport, although wrapped in a matte film, does not have a camouflage color, so all the details can be seen. Only the model name on the trunk lid and the PHEV inscription in the corner are hidden.
At the time of the announcement of the Toyota Crown, it was announced that the lineup would include a classic sedan, an “all-terrain” cross-sedan, a raised hatchback and a crossover, which the company calls the “station wagon”.
The car is very similar to the previously presented concept:

The sunset of another era. Volkswagen says goodbye to the Volkswagen Passat sedan

Volkswagen is phasing out the highly popular Volkswagen Passat sedan in Europe. A car in such a body will no longer be produced and sold in Europe.
The company has clarified that the next-generation Volkswagen Passat model (pictured), which will debut in the coming weeks or months, will be sold exclusively as a station wagon. Company chief Thomas Schäfer told Automotive News Europe that the decision to ditch the good old sedan was made despite the fact that it was the best-selling car in its segment in Europe last year. In the United States, the Passat has been discontinued after the 2022 model year.
The head of Volkswagen said that deliveries of the new Volkswagen Passat 2024 station wagon should begin in September, which means that the official announcement will take place this summer or even earlier. The midsize car will no longer be built in Emden (Germany) as production is moved to Bratislava (Slovakia). At the same time, it is worth noting that the production of the previous generation sedan ended in January 2022, as we reported.
The assembly of the sister model Skoda Superb will be moved from Kvasin (Czech Republic) to the same plant in Bratislava. The next Superb will be offered in both liftback and wagon body styles.
Schaefer told Automotive News Europe that deliveries of Skoda’s flagship model will begin towards the end of the year. In 2022, the Superb was the second best selling car in its segment behind the Passat.
Earlier it became known that Toyota Motor plans to stop sales of the Camry sedan in the Japanese market, focusing on countries.
